September 21, 20204 yr Author Teenage Dream PRISM One Of The Boys Witness Smile I can't help but think the recency of Smile means it is in people's affections a lot more, but as much as it's a cute album I don't think it touches the top 3 here! Witness I have some fond memories attached to so it's marginally ahead of Smile.
September 21, 20204 yr Smile is a nice album, a little short but filled with bops! The songs are all good, they just need a bit more to them if that makes sense. 3rd-5th was interchangeable for me.

Witness Before ranking I would've put Teenage Dream on top, but Prism just has so many fantastic memories for me - the first time I saw Katy live, the whole atmosphere of the tour was incredible, and almost every song on the album is fantastic, with so many of them having some special meaning personally. :wub: Smile... I haven't gone back to much but it's still leagues ahead of Witness (beyond the singles there's not much that saves it).

September 26, 20204 yr I’m kinda conflicted on my ranking tbh. I know I definitely prefer Smile to both One Of The Boys and Witness but with PRISM it’s harder to call. Smile doesn’t have any tracks I’d skip but it doesn’t have any wow moments it’s like an album of 7/8s all the way through. PRISM has both tracks I skip and wow moments. Katy’s main weakness for me is that there’s not much growth between records and her single choices have gotten worse by the era too. They were just about ok for PRISM although I’d have done things differently the era was still a huge success commercially but with Witness and Smile she’s really gotten those campaigns both very very wrong.
September 26, 20204 yr One Of The Boys Teenage Dream Smile Prism Witness I love Prism but also really enjoying the new album at the moment which is why I've placed it higher. I think her first album will always be my favourite of hers though :wub:
September 26, 20204 yr I think for me it's probably on the basis that it offers better album tracks than just about all the others. Yeah, I think it's easily an easier listen overall. I'm a big Witness apologiser and think it gets trashed way too hard for an album with 3 or 4 great tracks and the rest being mostly filler, which is quite common in pop. September 26, 20204 yr I love 'Witness' so much it's head and shoulders above the others. I still listen to it extremely regularly. The only flaw is that I would've replaced 'Into Me You See' with 'Dancing with the Devil' (which I did). I love this album so much. I didn't know she was capable of a song like 'Mind Maze'. Ugh, her mind. 'Bigger Than Me' is probably her best song lyrically (and a bop) and 'Roulette' really did that with the synth. She made the right call with which pre-album singles to include and exclude on 'Smile'. Most of the album tracks are cute but I don't like that all the songs and the album as a whole is short. 'Harleys' is one of her best songs. 'Teenage Dream' has a lot of cute singles but most of the album tracks are not all that. 'Who Am I Living For?' is a moment though. 'Prism' is a bit meh and home to her two worst singles. 'One of the Boys' is bottom of the list because it's not really my up of tea. I kind of live for 'Ur So Gay' tho even though that song deserves to be trashed in 2020. 1. Witness 2. Smile 3. Teenage Dream 4. Prism 5. One of the Boys
September 26, 20204 yr PRISM One Of The Boys Teenage Dream - This has the most highs though. It's just full of much more filler, imo. --- Smile Witness - I really don't hate this album at all. Its a good listen! But it's definitely her weakest to date.
