Ruti getting to #14 was a very pleasant surprise! It's a shame it's not on streaming anymore

It's very bit strange that one of just 2 top 40 winner's singles isn't on there! I can only imagine they had a 1 year licensing deal to cover the song, which tells you a lot about their confidence in creating a long-term success. It's a shame, because there have been some incredible artists on that show, who - with the right team and support behind them - could have been big. But they seem content to rush out a cover as a winner's single, then bring them back for a performance of their follow-up the next year, before dropping them.

Horrendous choice of Winner single for The Voice.

Currently #28 on iTunes, it will miss the top 100 on sales and the official chart probably eek.

The Voice UK winner's single is out this week...the previous winning songs have managed:

2019: #73

2018: #14

2017: #78

2016: #24

2015: #6

2014: #75

2013: #30

2012: #45

I am honestly surprised it is still on air, given that track record; it feels a bit pointless if they can't even guarantee the winner will get a single top 40 hit. But it's back for a new series in January!

It’s more about the number of viewers and the amount of advert revenue it brings in for itv than the charts.

January feels so soon when this series has only just finished! I know the live shows and final were delayed due to the pandemic, but you'd think given that, they'd maybe wait a few months.

Also, yeah I agree with the post above, I don't think the main aim of the show is chart success for the winner, though that is a bit of a shame because there's so many talented acts on there.

Has anyone got a spreadsheet or table showing all the number one albums from 2019 - 2020 and their sales figures (including the breakdown of physical and streaming) to save me some time? many thanks in advance

Meanwhile semi finalist queen Becky Hill has had 8 Top 40 hits and a gold album :cheeseblock:

at least in the US, it's all about the judges, no one cares about the Voice contestants :D

ACDC will be huge. McFly have been well and truly supported by Radio 2 over the last month or two, coupled with the ITV Documentary they may well surprise
I hope BBC Radio 2 Allstars, Lemonade, Sweet Melody and See Nobody knocks positions off the top spot today.
rooting for Billie! curious to see how BBC2 does
20 Meduza feat. Dermot Kennedy - Paradise
