I can only imagine they had a 1 year licensing deal to cover the song, which tells you a lot about their confidence in creating a long-term success. It's a shame, because there have been some incredible artists on that show, who - with the right team and support behind them - could have been big. But they seem content to rush out a cover as a winner's single, then bring them back for a performance of their follow-up the next year, before dropping them.

November 15, 20205 yr The Voice UK winner's single is out this week...the previous winning songs have managed: 2019: #73 2018: #14 2017: #78 2016: #24 2015: #6 2014: #75 2013: #30 2012: #45 I am honestly surprised it is still on air, given that track record; it feels a bit pointless if they can't even guarantee the winner will get a single top 40 hit. But it's back for a new series in January! It’s more about the number of viewers and the amount of advert revenue it brings in for itv than the charts.

But it's back for a new series in January! January feels so soon when this series has only just finished! I know the live shows and final were delayed due to the pandemic, but you'd think given that, they'd maybe wait a few months. Also, yeah I agree with the post above, I don't think the main aim of the show is chart success for the winner, though that is a bit of a shame because there's so many talented acts on there.
