It already been a top 20 hit in Ireland so not surprised to see it become a hit in the uk too, it would have been top 20 last month without the Xmas influx!

I’m in the minority of actually liking I Hope, however I won’t hold any hope on it becoming a hit until it turns up in the Spotify chart
I’m sure Ed will sneak a low selling No.1 with Afterglow in January due to the competition being on ACR but I thought it would be on at least double these streams at this point! Maybe it will grow in popularity, but he usually smashes straight out the gate.

Ed not exactly storming to the top of spotify or Apple and stream are low so cant see it hitting number one now as theres still other SCR songs ahead albeit only a little ahead.

I don't th8ink so will be interesting to see the streams for the new year. You'd think the lockdown would mean MORE streams as people are at home.

 

I think stream are levelling out overall meaning they are greater in number throughout the top 200 but lower at the top end.

Normally the Xmas songs get replaced with the big hits of the year ready for NYE. As this new year will be very different without the big parties, guessing people aren’t putting on the big playlists as much. Most of the country is on lockdown too so the commuter streams are gone.

Other than Justin Bieber, are there any potentially big albums for the start of next year? There’s nothing scheduled as far as I can see, and most big streaming acts released albums this year by the look of it (Gaga, Taylor x 2, Dua, Ariana etc).
