No doubt this is where Chris will pipe up with 'but that was a natural changeover and not one brought on by the incompetence of a PM!!!1111!'
Or he probably selectively doesn’t count Biden as a president for some random reason.
Boris going to Scotland for a non-essential reason undermines the stay at home message and will unfortunately probably encourage more members of the general public to also travel around the country for non essential reasons.

Yes I don't think he should have gone. One rule for us and one for them. Wasn't essential for him to go there today. What lockdown message does that convey?

Truly learning from his mistakes, I see.

Had Jeremy Corbyn been at the helm, you wouldn’t have said that.

Exactly - Chris would you have said the same if this exact outcome had happened under a Corbyn Labour government?

Truly learning from his mistakes, I see.

Whilst walking the dog I've remembered that you can travel for work or business so he hasn't broken the rules as his was for work. He didn't go on holiday.

Only if you absolutely must.

A trip to Scotland, travelling around multiple locations (I've heard he's been to Edinburgh, Livingston and Glasgow? all under tier 4 restrictions), to show face and act like you have everything together when you really don't is hardly essential / the duties of a key worker.

You must work from home if you can. He didn’t need to be ‘working’ in Scotland. There is a Pandemic he’s been failing with that could do with his attention.

He went for a photo op. No one in any of the places he went to actually wanted him there.

The only place where Boris has a lower approval rating than buzzjack is Scotland.

Only if you absolutely must.

As well as that he'd take a few close protection officers most likely from London and several aides probably so not just him going.

So... worse.

People have been reporting Boris to Scottish police and have been told that his visit "is legitimate at this time" so guess that's the matter closed.

The issue is more than just the question of whether his visit was strictly within the rules. It's a question of the message it sends to the rest of us. He clearly hasn't learned anything from the Cummings fiasco.

Which just makes it’s worse because it’s one rule for him another for the rest of us. Again.

I’m not a fan of Johnson but he’s the PM so has to be exempt from working at homem

The biggest difference is the fact that a visit by the British PM wouldn’t have batted an eyelid politically 10 years ago now with the polarisation of the politics there lost 2014 it’s a huge constitutional debate about weather he is welcome or not.

Exempt from working from home is one thing. Travelling to another country where the first minister specifically said he shouldn’t go to? Yeah I’m not buying any excuse for defending that, prime minister or not.

No I agree with you. He hasn't learnt a thing. :(

But just hours ago you said he’s learned from his mistakes! And that was hours AFTER he’d arrived in Scotland!

I've had time to decide that, on this issue alone, he didn't learn from the Cummings fiasco. Some of them, like lifting lockdown too soon, he has learnt something.

It's not really black or white whether he did wrong today. Gove has furiously defended him saying he needs to check up on all the nations as to how Covid's affecting them. A Welsh trip next maybe?
