November 20, 20213 yr Got my booster booked for next Saturday! I got AZ first time and this will be Pzizer - does it matter? I don't think so - in fact I hope I'll be getting the Pfizer if I'm offered a booster - the AZ vaccine seems to have the greatest wane of immunity of the 3 vaccines on offer, which could have had an effect on how I ended up with Covid despite being double jabbed.
November 20, 20213 yr Looks like it's happening most places at the moment. Strangely it looks like the Mediterranean countries aren't getting hit quite as bad, so it could be weather dependent? I know the likes of Spain, Portugal and Italy have a slightly higher vaccine rate so that could play a part too. In the UK we have had our highest daily figure for a month, after it looked as if cases nose dived. Looks like the current spread is in primary schools. Looks like it might be a bumpy winter for us all. Not sure these lockdowns for the unvaccinated will work either that are been mooted in some European countries either. Just sounds like a great way to increase the hatred levels of anti-vaxxers. I think most people now who aren't vaccinated are more concerned about being anti-establishment than anti-vax. Re: Southern Europe- Spain and especially Portugal have very high vaccination rates. Last time I checked both were well over 80% of the entire population. Just at a glance, seems to be North and West where vaccine hesitancy is more of an issue. i wonder why? Edited November 20, 20213 yr by mald487
November 20, 20213 yr Got my booster booked for next Saturday! I got AZ first time and this will be Pzizer - does it matter? Same for me. Had my Pfizer today, last time AZ. This time we'd to wait 15min after it. Last time we didn't.
November 20, 20213 yr I had my booster on Wednesday. I had Pfizer, as with the first two doses. I think it's reasonable to assume that you wouldn't be offered a different booster from your original vaccine if it wasn't safe.

Yeh I heard that, I was just worried about the mix and the potential side effects. You can still get Covid though with the vaccine so it may well have prevented you getting it even worse.
November 21, 20213 yr Research was published on mixed vaccinations and found that not only was it well tolerated and safe but following up the AZ with an mRNA shot was far more beneficial in terms of lasting immunity than having two AZ (research done on mix and match initial two dose regimen but no reason to think that it wouldn’t hold for a three dose regime) I have my booster booked and I’m staying with Moderna so I’ll be triple Moderna. Had the option of switching to the homegrown BioNTech jag too but thought I’d stay with the Dolly Parton microchips
November 21, 20213 yr OMG have an awful arm this morning. Really swollen and red and throbbing. Don't know why we couldn't have had AZ yesterday again. Must be dearer.
November 21, 20213 yr Author OMG have an awful arm this morning. Really swollen and red and throbbing. Don't know why we couldn't have had AZ yesterday again. Must be dearer. It will fade after around a day, tbh all the evidence suggests that Pfizer has a longer and more effective period of protection. It is a lot more expensive because as an mRNA vaccine it needs to be kept/prepared at very low temperatures. Personally I wanted Dolly Parton's Moderna but they didn't give me a choice. : (
November 21, 20213 yr Should have paid us a visit! Germany has shit tonnes of it and are desperate to get it in peoples arms before it expires (here everyone wants the German developed one)
November 21, 20213 yr Well I've joined the ranks of many and tested positive for Covid. Symptoms are thankfully relatively mild - cold/flu but have had much worse. Have to cancel all social plans for 10 days but glad I'm double vaccinated.

November 21, 20213 yr I used my COVID pass for the first time yesterday at the cinema which was extremely easy to do. My parents are going nuts over it and how they’re being discriminated against even though they never go to the cinema anyway and could just get a negative lateral flow. Apparently my fully vaccinated (including booster) grandparents were turned away from the cinema the other day because they didn’t have COVID passes (I do feel for older people who might not have access to phones or printers and I’m not sure why letters couldn’t be sent out to them) and of course my unvaccinated parents are running with it and acting very superior. I’m also hosting my sister and her boyfriend at mine at Christmas. She hasn’t outrightly told my parents that she won’t stay with them because they’re unvaccinated but I imagine they’ll be able to work it out. But instead of reflecting o; it they’re more likely shaking their heads about how silly and brainwashed their daughter is.

Rang 101 and she said to stay in a warm bed, take painkillers and if no better have a day off work tomorrow. :o Edited November 21, 20213 yr by cider man

I'm very sorry to hear about your parents Toby, I can't imagine how awful it must be to have these conspiracies tearing families apart, absolutely awful. I am so angry with Mark Zuckerberg/ Facebook, their drive for bigger and bigger profit at any cost and the lack of concern they have for its dire consequences now playing out in this way. I hope you are still able to get through to them at some point. : ( Should have paid us a visit! Germany has shit tonnes of it and are desperate to get it in peoples arms before it expires (here everyone wants the German developed one) I'd LOVE to visit Berlin, I'm still waiting for an invite bud. x

Fel worse, shivering, no appetite and ache all over. Rang 101 and she said to stay in a warm bed, take painkillers and if no better have a day off work tomorrow. :o The shivers/fever is completely normal, I had that after my 2nd dose of Pfizer - it faded around 24h after I had the injection but I guess it could last longer in some cases. Get yourself to bed and put on a favourite DVD or something to take your mind off it. Wait a minute - day off work - wasn't your last day AT work in 1979 or somethin??? When you go, don't forget to use Bright Magic as your soundtrack. <3 Of course!

November 21, 20213 yr Thanks, Doc, means a lot. They don’t get how worried we all are about them, that if they actually left the house more often they could literally die within weeks if they caught the virus. Everyone in their family has been vaccinated on all sides but I guess we’re all just a bit thick cos we ain’t got science degrees. Except for my uncle. But he’s a teacher so of course he’s vaccinated. My brother is also being irritating right now constantly slagging off the Welsh government for literally any tiny inconvenience that doesn’t exist in England. I keep wishing he and my parents would pack themselves off to England and stop whining. Ironically my sister, who’s already in England, is the one family member I feel like I can talk to right now without walking on eggshells and trying to avoid some sort of conflict.
