April 1, 20223 yr To me Holland are the strongest team in pot 2, you could argue that they could have been in pot 1 if Qatar weren't there already. I think they're stronger than Germany at the moment who have gone through quite a downward spiral in the last few years. Most of the teams in pot 2 look like they're of a similar standard. I can't see any of the pot 4 teams making it to the knockout stages unless there will be multiple groups with 3 powerful or tricky teams in them.
April 1, 20223 yr One thing for sure is that France won't make it out of the group stage due to the Champions curse so any pot 2/3/4 teams should be hoping for them if not Qatar.

The rankings can really lag and there's still 6 months to go. For example, I think Belgium are the current #1, but by the time the World Cup rolls around, not sure they will be anymore and their current golden generation has peaked.

The new World Rankings were released yesterday to determine the pots for the draw and Brazil are now the World #1.
May 11, 20223 yr Interesting news coming out of Ecuador - Chile have accused one of their players (Byron Castillo) of being in fact Colombian and using a false birth certificate. If true, Ecuador would be at risk of losing their place in the tournament. Chile are suggesting that Ecuador should forfeit all the games he played in and give three points to the opponents... which would therefore put Chile in the qualifying spots :lol: Hopefully all is settled peacefully!

June 1, 20223 yr Ukraine beat Scotland 3-1 today to face Wales in the final. And I can't really begrudge them at all.
