I was four months late to this one though, and actually knew it for a little while before realising it should be in my personal chart, however it is a massive tune and all the opposites in the lyrics are quite fun to spot as well! It's such a powerful indie-pop song with a brilliant melody that unexplainably left me coming back for more. Sounding brilliant giving it a listen now! Video EfwiNHlW1gg Commentary 2018 EOY #1 Amy Shark made her big someback this year and, after a comeback single which was a tad disappointing, this was much more on form. It features drummer Travis Barker, who is from a famous American band but I can't remember exactly which one now, although it doesn't matter as his drumming is perfectly fine here. Video d5-uOgSSevw Commentary Rounding off this section we have the highest entry from SeeB, who after a few rubbish years seem to have found their form again with songs like this. Despite the drop being a little overwhelming, it is more than made up for by the brilliantly put together verses and the vocals from St. Lundi who, despite the French-sounding name, is actually from an island off the English coast called Hayling Island, which I'd never heard of until now. January 10, 20215 yr Always great to see Of Monsters and Men here - one of their songs Visitor was a big hit for me this year, but I don't think I ever heard either of these ones before! The Hayling Island mention is a surprise as I'm actually from around that area, Colourblind is a nice sounding tune!
January 11, 20215 yr I just liked to C'MON and found it a pretty cool rocky-ballad. I liked how it started quite slow with the piano and then really picked up the pace from the chorus onwards. Travis Barker's from Blink-182 but I can't say I particularly noticed his drumming in that song. It's not as wild as a track you'd expect with him featured.

The Hayling Island mention is a surprise as I'm actually from around that area, Colourblind is a nice sounding tune! Visitor unfortunately never clicked as much with me, its peak on my chart was very much thanks to these two songs and it fell quite quickly. Interesting about Hayling Island - I wondered whether anyone would pop up and say they were from round there! St. Lundi seems like a decent vocalist anyway, I gave some of his solo stuff a listen last night and enjoyed it very much. Thanks Ansel! I just liked to C'MON and found it a pretty cool rocky-ballad. Ah it's blink-182 then, I definitely did read that somewhere but have since forgotton, I do think that if I hadn't seen the title I wouldn't have noticed a featured drummer though. Thanks Lewis!

This song didn't grab me initially but after a few weeks of listening I realised I absolutely loved it, all the instrumentation coming together to produce an absolute adventure of a song, even making time for some iconic lyrics, such as 'an hourglass is just a glass with sand inside' which was my member title for a while this year. Around midway through the year I decided to search for some non-Western worship music to top up my playlist, and this is the one that grabbed me the most, from Nigerian singer-songwriter Mercy Chinwo. Granted, it's not the most lively or Afro-beat-y song, but it's exactly what I needed at this point in the year and has some stunning vocals from Mrs. Chinwo. Top 100 Chart History 2020 05 Akamdinelu

Video iNTnK2908EA Commentary After our brief foray into African worship music we're back onto indie now with Lucia and her Best Boys, who provided one of my favourite BJSC entries from this year, not least because it transported me right back to the late 00s in terms of indie music, reminding me of a song which I don't have a clue what it is. January 11, 20215 yr Perfectly Untrue was one of the better indie-pop tracks from BJSC of recent times, it even had a few points from me. Like It Is was a hit in my chart too of course although not quite as big for me. I've not been fond of Seeb for quite a few years now sadly, besides that Hallucinogenics remix.
January 11, 20215 yr Ooh I'm not sure from the past few! I'd probably say Rather Be You from the last group, and then maybe Colourblind? Thanks for commenting! Rather Be You is pretty good indeed! I actually quite liked a Tom Gregory song a few years back called Run to You, I actually own it on CD single which remains extremely random  Colourblind is a bop, Seeb are hit and miss for me generally but this is a good one!
January 11, 20215 yr Omg, Rather Be You appearing :o :cheeseblock: Tom Gregory was a revelation for me in 2020, Fingertips is still my favourite but his album is so good and everything that’s followed singles-wise has been great too!
