December 15, 20204 yr I said the exact opposite of that :kink: (my logic being that the choir version isn't likely to get many streams anyway, so having the streams from the original version count to the new version will be a net positive even if the song is on ACR - with that said, they could surely just have the versions combined and request an SCR reset which would be even more in their best interests) Actually yes on reflection you're probably right. If it does do a big number of downloads it's not really going to even matter how many streams it get because of course the download numbers aren't affected by ACR.
December 15, 20204 yr I wonder if all those campaigns like Ladbaby could be affected by iTunes sales being at its lowest they were low 2 years ago and even lower last year (like 1K a day) but now we've hit the all-time low and the weekly #1 doesn't even sell 500 copies a day
December 15, 20204 yr I’d rather it be a battle between two proper singles but I can’t see the Christmas #1 being anything other than a charity single battle anymore. I’ll root for the NHS choir this time round to hopefully prevent another LadBaby single next year.
December 15, 20204 yr This is supposed to be his last 1 this year if he gets to number 1 so will he release another if he doesnt ?
December 16, 20204 yr I think he's more likely to release next year if he does. If he doesn't then that's the hint the shows over.
December 16, 20204 yr https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/c...ogether__31823/ The OCC have an article on this #1 campaign "A Candle for Carson"
December 16, 20204 yr Is it likely that the original ‘Holy’ will count towards the new single?! If so, I think Justin could make it very hard for Ladbaby... Holy is still streaming relatively well.

December 16, 20204 yr No, its a re-recording Thanks... I guess it’s how hard streaming sites push it as a single then... I can see it being high on NMF etc so fingers crossed streaming edges it for them.
December 16, 20204 yr Oh ffs not another charity single. I'm sure the UK's hero worship obsession with the NHS will push them to a number 1 for more virtue signalling nonsense.

I don't agree with your analysis of 'hero worship obsession' and 'virtue signalling' but yeah I really can't see LadBaby making Christmas #1 this year against an NHS Choir given the big national focus on the NHS this year.

I should have been more specific, sorry. I don't have an issue with the NHS doing this but just like the 'clap for NHS' thing during lockdown, this will be another way for the public to think they're 'doing their bit' and 'supporting them' instead of just staying the f*** home and following the proper guidelines. I can already see the swarm of people sharing this on my social media channels whilst at the same time having big Christmas parties and not following any of the rules. None of them will bother actually fighting for them to get a pay rise or have better working conditions but as long as they clap for 60 seconds on a Thursday night and download a song on iTunes it makes them look and feel like they're making a difference. Edited December 16, 20204 yr by shadow2009

December 16, 20204 yr https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/r...umber-1__31872/ Another OCC article on another campaign; Rig Aid - "It's Christmas Time (It's Time to Lash)" features vocals from some famous sportspeople including James Haskell
December 16, 20204 yr So we can expect LadBaby feat. Mariah next year! All I Want For Christmas Is A Sausage Roll would be okay.
December 16, 20204 yr Justin Bieber is such an odd choice to sing with the NHS, he doesn’t represent anything to do with it
December 16, 20204 yr It's because they beat him to #1 back in 2015, which ended with him meeting with them
December 16, 20204 yr NHS will have too much support due to the circumstances this year. Ladbaby has a chance but his odds are looking inflated to me. SHame about ACR or Mariah could have done it.
