big chart battle this week. could Wham finally do it? could Mariah claim it back? or Alexa claim another number one for Jess Glynne? or we start off 2021 as we did in 2020 with Ed at number one? rising hits from CJ, Ariana and Kid Laroi.

I think/hope it could be Wham’s week, they’re number one with huge numbers on Spotify and presumably on AM too. I don’t see Jess quite managing it as she’s only number six on Amazon, Ellie was at number one last year.

 

Out of the normal songs CJ has the biggest chance but not quite sure if he’ll get a big enough post christmas boost to overtake Mariah and Wham this week.

I’d love Wham! to do it but I’ve a feeling Alexa will pull out all the stops once they realise they have a chance. I also think Mariah might stay ahead of Wham! once all platforms are taken into account.

How many downloads did LadBaby manage yesterday? He still had a sizeable lead when I looked this morning? Would like to see Wham get there

we don’t have confirmation for positions but its incredibly likely given its 4-19 drop this week.

I think Wham might actually do, I can see them remaining above 100k all week which will probably be enough with the massive streams today!

Will almost definitely be coming for the first ever #1 to dip directly out of the top 100 the following week if either Wham! or Mariah get it this week! (Possibly Jess too, but you never know with Alexa, Ellie Goulding did after all remain as high as #28 the week after hitting #1 although I expect Jess will fall more as her song is more explicitly Christmas related and also just hasn't done as well to begin with).
