January 3, 20215 yr Fantastic to see 'Levitating' get an unexpected reset, i felt like it had a bit more life left in it yet! I'd really love for 'Sweet Melody' to hold it. At least a new peak should be good either way.
January 3, 20215 yr Legitimately thinking 'Blinding Lights' might get reset next week lol It does seem a little odd that 'Levitating' got reset while most other songs didn't. Not really complaining about that getting a reset though. (Although it looks like Tate McRae may also have been reset, which I will very much complain about xx) I wouldn't begrudge Little Mix getting #1 this week but their song is my least favourite out of the top 3. Hoping there might still be a chance of 'willow' returning to the top 10 this week but at least it should definitely be back in the top 20 ~
January 3, 20215 yr Gerry and the Pacemakers singer Gerry Marsden, whose version of You'll Never Walk Alone became a football terrace anthem for his hometown club of Liverpool, has died at the age of 78. His family said on Sunday he died after a short illness not linked to Covid-19. Marsden's band was one of the biggest success stories of the Merseybeat era, and in 1963 became the first to have their first three songs top the chart. The second of those was Ferry Cross The Mersey, written by Marsden. Marsden was made an MBE in 2003 for services to charity after supporting victims of the Hillsborough disaster. 22 +837 Gerry & The Pacemakers - You'll Never Walk Alone on iTunes. And on iTunes albums chart, 19 NEW Gerry & The Pacemakers - The Best of Gerry & The Pacemakers
January 3, 20215 yr I think NYE boost might have given a late in the run boost for Levitating strong enough to reset. Love to see it!
January 3, 20215 yr Is it true that if you are streaming a song on mute it won’t count? yes, you have to at least play it at a low volume.
January 3, 20215 yr yes, you have to at least play it at a low volume. So I didn’t help mariah get to number 1! 🤣 I saw it was a message on a sweet melody playlist. Good to know.
January 3, 20215 yr Keeping everything crossed for Little Mix they deserve to join Spice Girls at achieving #1s in two different decades! ❤️😍
January 3, 20215 yr We don't need this sort of negativity Their song has been out for some time plus they have a new song with Nathan and besides, the Ed song has barely been out
January 3, 20215 yr Their song has been out for some time plus they have a new song with Nathan and besides, the Ed song has barely been out The fact that it's been out this long and is likely to get a new peak this week proves just how big it is (and how deserved of a number 1 it would be).
January 3, 20215 yr Their song has been out for some time plus they have a new song with Nathan and besides, the Ed song has barely been out err... but Sweet Melody is doing better, it deserves to be #1, and with Jessy leaving :( just seems appropriate.
January 3, 20215 yr Their song has been out for some time plus they have a new song with Nathan and besides, the Ed song has barely been out Yeah, but earlier in the thread you wanted 'Hallucinate' to get a reset so what's your logic?
January 3, 20215 yr So I didn’t help mariah get to number 1! 🤣 I saw it was a message on a sweet melody playlist. Good to know. If it makes you feel any better, even if it did count when muted you wouldn't have been able to contribute even 1 full sale to it from streams alone... :kink:
January 3, 20215 yr Yeah, but earlier in the thread you wanted 'Hallucinate' to get a reset so what's your logic? "Hallucinate" didn’t peak high enough
January 3, 20215 yr An explanation on these resets would be great, none of them seem to make any sense, especially Train Wreck which should be on permanent ACR Isn't there a rule whereby a label can request an old song be put back onto SCR if they intend to actively promote the song? I don't know if Jame Arthur's team are now pushing the song but that could be the reason.
January 3, 20215 yr They did in fact already do that for this song once (as it would otherwise have been stuck on ACR due to the 3 year rule). Unsure if that thus resets the clock on the 3 year rule or if they would have had to manually reset it a second time.
