January 12, 20214 yr Not heard from Devlin for AGES (not since his debut era in 2010 !!) so hyped for that one :o
January 14, 20214 yr 2 / 3 album covers without himself on them and hes so gorgeous... mad. I did like the last album though it could have 10 songs removed.
January 14, 20214 yr What does the title of track 8 mean? Is that some sort of modern term incorporating the word "fuckwit" or have I got that completely wrong?
January 14, 20214 yr Unfuckwitable = unable to be fucked with x I actually think the artwork for this album looks pretty cool, not sure why it's getting hate. Certainly it's far more interesting than his music. x

January 15, 20214 yr I haven’t listened to much of Zayn’s solo stuff but had to listen to When Love’s Around because I love Syd so much. That voice  Looove it on first listen, might have to give the rest of the album a listen.

January 16, 20214 yr still nothing good on this album, it's a shame that someone w/such an immense talent can't channel it properly. Doesn't help that he's about as exciting as dishwater so.. I'm gonna give the album another listen later but not hearing anything better than "there you are" or "let me" from IF. Edited January 16, 20214 yr by jsweetxe

January 16, 20214 yr Gave this a listen and it's a mixed bag, 'When Love's Around' and 'Vibez' are my main highlights. His voice is just delicious, I could quite happily listen to it all day. Mad to think it's nearly been six years since Get Well Soon Zayn!
January 16, 20214 yr Yeah this is probably his weakest album to date sadly :( but there are a few gems on it! Besides Better and Vibez my highlights would probably be Outside, Sweat and Windowsill.
January 16, 20214 yr Where have all the 1D fans evaporated to? You’d think coming from what used to be the biggest boyband in the world for a good five years that you’d manage a bit of success after. Obviously Zayn’s first era was quite successful as he was promoting that whilst the other four were still going. But since then it’s like the general public at least couldn’t give two sh*ts about him and his music. It’s a shame really as he’s very talented with a decent discography.
January 16, 20214 yr I think with Mind of Mine though we have to remember that was the first solo album by any of them, and from the member who left the group, so of course that was always going to do well with attention and interest in what his music would sound like. Since then it's clear he has definitely established a style and sound, but of the five of them his music was always going to be the most acquired taste, despite the odd burst in success with big-name collaborations, etc. The core fanbase that will always be behind him as a former member of 1D will still be there, but just not in gigantic numbers sadly.
January 16, 20214 yr The interest seemed to evaporate quickly after Dusk Till Dawn. Let Me did okay but releasing another 78 singles from Icarus Falls naturally brought diminishing returns (it would for any artist), but it didn't help that none of them caught on and the album was launched in Christmas week, the toughest sales week of the year, with only a minor top 20 hit from months back to sell it. His aversion to promotion doesn't help and nothing's really changed since then, his most recent hit is now over three years old. Being in 1D isn't an immediate help either - Liam's album wasn't exactly a runaway success either thanks to constant delays and ultimately releasing it a year and a half after Familiar, his last notable hit as a lead. Louis hasn't had any single success from his album, it had a strong first week thanks to Louis having more of a fanbase than any of them except Harry but dropped away quickly. Only Niall and Harry really have interest from the general public at this point because they've kept the momentum going with their single and album releases, well-timed promotion and consistent high quality of music. (I've not heard this album yet so I'll report back on that but neither of the singles really sounded like hits to me, even if he could still get any real level of support - that doesn't mean either are bad songs though, Vibez is a good track and I think I quite liked Better)
January 16, 20214 yr Mind of Mine was an AMAZING album. Genuinely one of the best albums by a male I've ever heard. I only heard/remember about half of Icarus Falls and didn't take much from it (There You Are, All That, Back To Life) so when I heard this dropped I went in with extremely low expectations but I'm pretty impressed with it. It's still not as exciting as his debut and there are times I still roll my eyes and wish he'd pick up the tempo a bit and move away from the mumbling over a midtempo, minimalistic production but I'm obsessed with Tightrope, Windowsills (what a bizarre collaboration?), Vibez and Better. The rest is definitely growing on me.
