The "can't make a wife out of a hoe" line goes right through me, come through $l*t shaming! Send us back in time!

Delayed reply but context helps with this, when listening to his album! F*CK LOVE, the original album (which WITHOUT YOU doesn't feature on) is about the break-up of a toxic relationship from quite a negative point-of-view, ending on the song SELFISH where Laroi wants revenge and says he'll be "savage." The re-issue of the album, subtitled SAVAGE with 7 new songs including SO DONE and WITHOUT YOU, sees the wounds heal as Laroi accepts that he did wrong as well (the song ALWAYS DO is particularly notable for this). WITHOUT YOU serves as the closing song to the era, where he's moving on and stepping forward, and that particular line makes a lot more sense hearing the full album (even if I'm not the biggest lover of the word hoe). It's not $l*t-shaming, though a better word could have been used for sure.

Ugh SUCH a good #1

I know this isn't a flop at all for Ed, but it is refreshing to see him underperform somewhat. I wonder if this was supposed to be a smash for him or not.

YES LITTLE MIX!!!! What an absolute smash, they deserve nothing less! Now let's keep it there!
It did it! Actually bought this one for 59p so I'll be happy to see it's sales and know I was one of them! The power of the fanbase! :cheeseblock: I would like Ed to sneak in a week if possible cause I really like Afterglow too, just refrained from listening to it this week!
I am so pleased that 'Sweet Melody' is #1. It's absolutely their best songs in years.
Sweet Melody is the most consumed song of the week too, not a fake #1 caused by ACR! Fantastic :cheer:

YESSSSSS Best Song of 2020 still smashing in 2021!

Tuneeeeeee

Can’t believe it actually happened. Justice for their songs to at also deserved this accolade. Touch, Break Up Song etc etc.

I'm so glad Little Mix have done it. Sweet Melody is such a BOP and one of their best songs imo.

I do like Afterglow too but I'm glad LM have made it :D

Amazing result for Little Mix. I don't personally rank it among their best but it's still a big achievement to get a #1 this late in their career.

Biography

Inspired by similarly forthright rappers Lil' Kim, Trina, and Khia, as well as R&B artist Teedra Moses, Saweetie broke through with her gold-certified 2017 single "ICY GRL" and two years later scored a Top 40 pop hit with "My Type."

Born in Santa Clara, Diamonté Harper grew up in and around the Bay Area, primarily in the city of Hayward. Though she aspired to be a rapper in early childhood, she excelled academically, earned a full-ride college scholarship, and obtained a degree after attending San Diego State and the University of Southern California. Harper's interest in music intensified once she got some attention for short performance clips uploaded to Instagram. One set of nonchalantly celebratory rhymes, delivered over the instrumental of Khia's 2002 hit "My Neck, My Back," developed into "ICY GRL," her debut as Saweetie. The official video for the track, uploaded in October 2017, went viral and notched millions of views, and led to a major-label deal with Warner Bros.

Saweetie's first EP, High Maintenance, arrived in March 2018 and entered Billboard's R&B/hip-hop chart at number 32. Centerpiece "ICY GRL" was certified gold the following January. Almost exactly a year after the arrival of High Maintenance, the rapper returned with a second EP, ICY. Two tracks featured Quavo, but that August, the London on Da Track-produced solo cut "My Type" took Saweetie into the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. A stand-alone track, "Tap In," arrived in June 2020. - Apple Music

Biography

“I try not to overthink songs,” Zara Larsson told Apple Music in 2019. Instead, the Swedish singer feels most on point when she’s able to “just feel it.” Larsson’s ability to convey that mix of youthful confidence and emotional intensity helped make her one of Europe’s biggest new music stars while she was still in her teens. Born in 1997 in a suburb of Stockholm, Larsson first found fame in Sweden when her performance of Céline Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” clinched her victory on a TV talent show at the age of 10. After leaving school to focus on her music full time, she released her debut album, 1, in 2014, which topped the charts throughout Scandinavia and landed her a U.S. record deal. By the time she was scoring international hits alongside rapper Tinie Tempah on “Girls Like” and guesting on David Guetta’s “This One’s for You”, she was fast developing beyond the familiar dance-pop templates and demonstrating a boldness that evoked Beyoncé and Rihanna, two of her biggest influences. (She paid tribute to another inspiration a few years later when she released a sumptuous cover of Robyn’s “With Every Heartbeat”.) “Never Forget You”, a thrilling collaboration with singer and producer MNEK that also marked Larsson’s first songwriting effort, became her first major U.S. success. Together with the album So Good, the song established the power and allure of Larsson’s sleek yet impassioned brand of EDM-powered pop. - Apple Music

Before LAROI and Jawsh who was the last male artist under 19 to hit the UK top 10? Sean Kingston?

Afterglow is nice but doesn't seem to go anywhere, maybe it'll be a slow burner.

Sweet Melody is well deserving of reaching #1

The best number 1 in a long time! :cheeseblock:

What a song

I'm so, so proud of them. Getting their last single as a 4 piece to #1! It looks like it'd have been top 3 at least without the push, but the fanbase definitely time it perfectly!
