Can’t believe Griff took a nosedive further down the charts even with the Xmas songs being cleared out

Congrats Little Mix, I still don't like the song at all but it's a really impressive achievement for them to still be able to get #1 hits this far into their career (their entire chart history in general is really unprecedented for a girlgroup!) and it is nice for Jesy's time in the group to be celebrated with such a high ~

 

Happy that 'Afterglow' has a #2 peak now, I think it's probably going to be peaking there but that's great for this song which doesn't really sound like a huge hit. Even though it hasn't quite got #1 as it looked at one point like it might, #3 still feels like a bizarrely high peak for 'Whoopty' but it's a banger so I'm here for it xx I think that now ties 'Man's Not Hot' as the highest charting drill song ever, unless I am forgetting anything really obvious? (What a duo x) Of course Headie One had a #2 hit but 'Ain't It Different' wasn't actually a drill song.

 

I'm reliably informed that the SCR resets for 'Levitating' and 'you broke me first' were both requested by the label rather than being automatic resets - really quite baffled at that decision as they're surely both been-and-gone hits at this point, and as much as I still enjoy 'Levitating' it's a real shame that this has blocked 'Prisoner' from re-entering the top 10, and even moreso that 'willow' was also blocked (and I can fully throw my hatred at Tate McRae for that one), those 2 are both among the best top 10 hits of 2020. Meh ~ Happy enough to see 'WITHOUT YOU' and 'Paradise' getting top 10 peaks, I don't LOVE either but they're both fairly good.

 

Also good to see a top 20 peak for 'Loading', 'HOLIDAY' finally getting a top 40 peak after so many weeks stalling in the 40s (I want Lil Nas X to have some longevity and this is a pretty decent sign of that though I hope his next single will be a little stronger than this one), 'Golden' also getting a new peak and a very solid debut for 'Good Days', hoping that'll go on to be at least a top 10 hit!

 

The other new entries are kind of a mixed bag of songs that I think are mostly just decent but could also become annoying over time, specifically looking at 'The Business'. 'SO DONE' is alright, not LAROI's best but happy he's got a second top 40 hit I guess. 'No Time For Tears' is pretty generic but at least an improvement on Nathan Dawe's last two hits. The Jason Derulo song can piss off. Becky Hill's cover of 'Forever Young' is quite nice, seems very strange for a Christmas advert song to be entering after Christmas, I'd have preferred 'Love Is A Compass' over that one but still not terrible ~ and I've not heard the HVME version of 'Goosebumps' yet but I guess it's good that that song is finally a top 40 hit in some form even though I highly doubt this version will be preferable to the original (no judging until I hear it though). x

 

Yay for Taylor getting that 2nd week at #1 in the albums too and barely avoiding the unwanted record for lowest sales for a #1 :cheer: cool to see Harry's album getting a new peak as well ~

Happy to see Little Mix at #1. Shame "Prisoner" didn't return to the top 10 - it must've been very close! Happy to see "Midnight Sky" back in the top 40 too - I hope it managed to get reset back to SCR and can rise a little bit next week again. Also pleased to see Plastic Hearts rising to 14 - it's stayed very stable in the top 20 since release! I hope it'll manage to climb back into the top 10 at some point.
