Posted January 14, 20214 yr Well we didn't have one last year. Last thread was this one: 2019 PROPHECIES. And every one of the previous 3 were started by different members so let's continue that trend at least. What's gonna happen this year? Well methinks: Debut wins for Lookylion, Mosquetania & Séyetana One song will miss out on winning due to a deduction {controversh} A host will announce their own DNQ (is this even that rare now?) Chestoria to go on a streak of qualifiers after they finally crack the final Only 2 new nations will join, 1 of which will depart after their first and only appearance FARC reclaims EOY #1 BJFest will finally return this year (take that as more of a request if yo wish ;o) And.............. The long-awaited elusive nil pointer will finally NOT happen because that is literally impossible silly silly. Let's go!
January 14, 20214 yr My (selfish predictions): I will not be in contention for EOY#1 I will DNQ with my 100th entry in 133
January 14, 20214 yr well if we go long-term trends, I normally follow up a bad year with a competitive year so yes I agree that is a very good prediction Lookylion seems like a good call for a debut win, their on-point picks make it feel like a matter of time, though we said that about Ramrynia too. I'm going to predict one debut win though: Terra Avium. the pop dominance of last year will come crashing down (at least in comparison to what it was) but 3 of the winners will be very pop regardless.
January 14, 20214 yr Lookylion are definitely going to win very soon, I agree. Aeroche will chalk up at least one victory. One of Rolloland or Singerpurear will crack the top three at some point. One nation who previously never has will qualify in every contest this year, along with Aeroche and FARC. Everybody else will DNQ at least once. An AQ song will score less than 30 points in the final.
January 14, 20214 yr I will DNQ with my 100th entry in 133 132, unless you're skipping that contest xx
January 14, 20214 yr I agree with those Lookylion ones, although anything could happen! I predict Aeroche to have a relatively floppy year :o perhaps only 1 win this year? I reckon Hendinia could be our year end #1. I think now they're modding they'll start doing some srs business in the contest. I'm going to predict/manifest I will enter every contest this year! I reckon I will do similarly to last year and qualify most the time but not particularly successfully! I think I'll DNQ in the first half of this year. I reckon an 'old force' who hasn't won in a while like Botaniika, Numayania, FSR Rontvia or Caerfyrddia will win this year. Jade or Bray to win this year too, but not both. I'd love another first time winner this year too! Terra Avium, Seyetana or myself pls :teresa:
January 14, 20214 yr I reckon an 'old force' who hasn't won in a while like Botaniika, Numayania, FSR Rontvia or Caerfyrddia will win this year. From your mouth/fingers to gods ears :D I think the other two are more likely though because I’m going to DNQ this month and wrestle with myself over if it’s worth coming back
January 14, 20214 yr I predict that FSR Rontvia will have their first win in a long time. Utopia will grab either a win or at least a top 2 hit. Mulgracia gets 4 top 10's. One country or two embark on a year long dnq streak. East Rukahavian will land a huge hit and have a successful year all round.
January 14, 20214 yr My (selfish predictions): I will not be in contention for EOY#1 I will DNQ with my 100th entry in 133 i'm here for both of these xo
January 14, 20214 yr I agree with the Aeroche floppingness. Their comeback will flop as hard as Cheesy Ed Sheeran's.
January 14, 20214 yr An AQ song will score less than 30 points in the final. Wow, you made me quite nervous  Edited January 14, 20214 yr by FrankLuck
January 14, 20214 yr Aeroche will chalk up at least one victory. One of Rolloland or Singerpurear will crack the top three at some point. Hah! One of those is very very likely and the other isn't (discounting Rolloland who could (and should) go top 3 with the current entry) Appreciate the positivism though, I might to have to make an effort for a change
January 14, 20214 yr 132, unless you're skipping that contest xxI'm coming up to my 100th anniv this year. What are the protocols with that? Do I just confirm like normal and state it's my 100th anniversary, that month?
January 14, 20214 yr I swear I've been predicted to win every year in one of these things, let's make it happen this year B-) I predict Aeroche will win at least one - that's been the given for the last decade and Chestoria will qualify at least once x I'll also predict Persephonia will get one win, idk it's been too long.
January 14, 20214 yr Flynnonda having their breakout year last year a la Tartford 2018 gives me hope that another long-suffering country will have theirs next. I see Chestoria or Sandenia pulling this off sorta • more random countries return thanks to lockdown, kinda thinking one of N DNTN/numbers will make some form of return • Holland-Oats gets a top 10 but with an entry you’d least expect • the K-pop resurgence will continue but then die off around 139 bc trends don’t last forever • Lookylion ends up in the EOY top 5 • Aeroche gets a win around the summer • another UVLand entry takes off internationally Idk what to think of for myself, definitely feel like another floppy/underperformance year is to come like last year was
January 15, 20214 yr In the unlikely event it would occur, what would happen if a country won a contest despite not voting meaning the deduction wasn’t big enough to knock them down? Would the DQ from the next contest be overridden by their AQ? Would they be allowed to host but not allowed to enter?
January 17, 20214 yr In the unlikely event it would occur, what would happen if a country won a contest despite not voting meaning the deduction wasn’t big enough to knock them down? Would the DQ from the next contest be overridden by their AQ? Would they be allowed to host but not allowed to enter? I can't think of any written rule stating what would happen. I can't think there's been many occasions (if any) that a song has been at least 33% ahead of the song in 2nd place. Like that is a massive points difference considering the winner is usually in the 300/400 point range! E.g. a song with 400 points would still survive a 33% deduction to win even if 2nd was on 300 points which is a 100 point gap, which in itself is pretty incredible!
