I'm enjoying this so far, I agree it's definitely catchy and I like the verses, though I wish the chorus was a bit stronger. The production is very generic and quite 2015 but I think it sort-of works? It's very pedestrian by their standards though, Tick Tock at least felt like a Clean Bandit track (on autopilot but still Clean Bandit).

I really think the main issue is that they're trying to write their songs themselves instead of collaborating with other songwriters like they did in the past,

and it shows in the results.

Rather Be + many tracks off their debut were written with James Napies, who's a very good songwriter, he did Sam Smith's 1st album.

then Rockabye and Symphony were written by Ina Wroldsen and Ammar Malik, both great songwriters.

they should reach out and work again with songwriting teams rather than solo.

Unsure what to make of this. It's got a very catchy chorus, and I think I can see myself going back to it more than Tick Tock as I prefer the melody and general vibe of the song.

But the production lets it down. It sounds straight out of the "How to get onto Spotify playlists: 2016 Edition" book and feels instantly dated, generic and cheap.

I prefer this to Tick Tock actually! The versus and the chorus is great, the drop isn’t good at all. However, Tick Tock got bored for me very very quickly so hopefully the same doesn’t happen with this.

This was written with Dan Smith, Tick Tock was with Kamille - and James Napier did only write 3 songs on their debut

I even hated that sound at the time, let alone now!

I really like this.

Tick Tock I liked to begin with, but it very quickly fell off my radar.

I think Clean Bandit must have just liked Mood a lot as they got 24kGoldn involved on one track and then iann dior for the follow up!

First listen and I'm disappointed by this, and I'm usually quite sympathetic to CB's generic efforts! I feel like it doesn't do anything that Tick Tock didn't do and that had a better melody and more light and shade with male and female vocals. To me it sounds like a 5th/6th single release post-album rather than single #2! Plus Iann's vocals aren't suiting this sound that well, sounds a bit amateur in comparison to the usual female vocalists who have a smoother tone that goes well with the trop-pop sound.

I do get the feeling this will grow as their songs have a knack for that but I can't help but feel disappointed right now.

It's better than Tick Tock and I actually quite like the vocal sections but the generic breakdown can do one. Perhaps we'll get a decent remix.

Its just OK, 'Tick Tock' was better.

This was written with Dan Smith

Dan Smith of Bastille? You can hear the influence of Dan Smith tbh especially in the buildup to the drop (which is one of the better parts of the song I think).

Yeah, I'm enjoying this now but can see me becoming bored of this quick. :(

Piece of You next plz!

Already reduced to 59p on iTunes too

Bit sad this needs it already but this does feel like a big mis-step for them! I wonder if they were relying on iann's name to get a hit with an unoriginal song? Despite having a massive #1 hit to his name, I'm sure everyone thinks of 24kgoldn alone for 'Mood'. I honestly couldn't tell you which part iann sings

Few days later and it's grown a bit on me but it's still a disappointing release! I think this will struggle to pick up any momentum just due to the poor quality of the song in my opinion.
