I was expecting that to be really cringey and desperate but all three of them were hilarious. I remember Jade went to the Work and Greatest Hits tour so it's nice to know that The Sats were somewhat of an inspiration to them as well.

Whilst we are on the subject of The Saturdays, did anyone else see them as a Girls Aloud rip off at times? They had 0 originality about them and the personalities of the band members never really shone through? I always felt like they were always struggling, they never really had that “Glory Days” era did they, well maybe the Chasing Lights era and that’s it.

And there performances were always dreadful! Just YouTube Just Can’t Get Enough from Comic Relief 2009!

All Fired Up is a banger though 😂

Um? This is giving whoever left that bizarre rant about Little Mix a week or two ago tease. I actually didn’t get much “Girls Aloud”

rip-off at all but it’s Buzzjack so of course we’ve got someone comparing women for the sake of comparing women

I’m not comparing women for the sake of comparing women at all, these are just my opinions which I have every right to share 😊

I’m not saying you don’t have the right to share them! I struggle to see how they should be compared when they’re different acts? If you don’t like one, don’t listen, no-ones forcing you but it’s always women in music being compared to other women and it’s tiring- especially on this forum. If no-one agrees then sobeit but there’s no reason the two groups couldn’t co-exist but I guess because they’re both British 5-pieces they’re being compared? Guess I’ll go commenting on Stooshe in the Sugababes forum

It appears I’ve opened a can of worms 😂

i don't think the sats were a GA rip off, music was completely different and so was their style/image. GA definitely was meant to appease to.. I would say "older girls", like 17-19 mainly with angsty songs and I think were also meant to be a girl group to push GOOD music (even if it didn't always land due to the limitations of the members)

the sats didn't really have a direction, i felt like little mix coming in like 2(1?) years later overshadowed them completely and their music/image/performances etc just weren't good enough to find a niche

  • 2 weeks later...

Look at them squeezing Nostalgia in there! But yeh bloody great choices.

EDIT: Notice GRL are missing... Imagine if Ugly Heart was there!!

Edited by Dangerous Julian

tbh GRL used their dead band members account to tweet from over the Ugly Heart mess so I'm glad they were skipped over

Stooshe is odd though cus Black Heart was kinda big. I don't rly like unperfect but to be included on a Little Mix playlist and be under that "girl group umbrella" that Little Mix govern over is kinda incredible for them considering how unheard of that group is
