BBC News reported on it having passed 5 years (260 weeks) in the official chart, must've given it a little boost.

Some friends of mine in their early 20s were genuinely surprised to learn recently that Mr Brightside is from 2004. They thought it was some old 70s/80s song that had been around for many more decades than it has.

It is a new mix of a song on their last album and has been out for a number of weeks already. The new mix with Michelle visage will feature on the new album. Good signs for when the new lead single comes out.
