Some fans can't afford albums.

I don't see why helping them would be against the rules?

Some of us couldn’t afford albums 20 years ago but we didn’t have this option. We also couldn’t stream for free either. It’s naive to believe something like this is about anything but chart manipulation.

This is such a silly point.

Just because you didn't have access to a resource in the olden days, doesn't mean it's unfair for people to have it now.

This is 2021.

T Boy's main point was about it being chart manipulation though. If the fans wanted to hear the album, they can do so on Spotify for free, but at a cheap price this is allowing them to buy a digital copy which contributes more to the charts than even the most fanatic fan could do on streaming (ie, why else would they be doing this if not to bolster sales?). It's the same reason "Dynamite" keeps selling 50,000 copies every week in the US. Whether or not its allowed is at the discretion of the chart company (and it seems to be), but calling it chart manipulation is fair game.

I personally think these funded sales are 1000% wrong, any sort of mass buying is wrong and chart manipulation

if I were to buy 100 sales myself, those would be excluded cos of chart rigging, this is the same

and who funds this? wouldn't surprise me if it were the record labels tbh

Thanks for expanding on my ‘silly point’, that’s what I was meaning exactly.

There was chart manipulation all that time ago too, but people used to call it out for what it was and some people still went without. If you were a child, you maybe got an album for birthdays and Christmases or after saving up pocket money for months.

What's up with the album chart this week has everyone gone on holiday  its one big mess
Demi just released 1000 bundles that include signed posters and come with 2 albums. They're sold out so that means an extra 2000 sales right?

...were we? :kink:

I'm surprised how strong a challenge Demi is putting up but I was thinking The Snuts probably had enough of a fanbase to get #1 and Bieber would only get there by default if WhoOdyssey had been lying to us about their popularity x

Wow would never of thought demi would have a chance at number 1 would love to see it but I bet she will probably stick at number 2 stil a career peak :cheer:

Beiber would of had it if he released this week unlucky :cheer:

Yeah its amazing what can happen when release so many versions of the same thing and the same fans by the same thing over and over again
