I kind of prefer the original, they've slowed this down a bit. Still great though and fits them very well
It's not as good as the original (obviously) but it's very very good. I feel like it needs a bit of a remix to give it more OOMPH like Story Of A Heart last album too. Pleasingly they limited H/Lee to backing vocals only.

It’s amazing, just as the original is, and somehow even more ABBA-esque than that, I guess because it’s now a band song and the extra voices and addition of male backing vocals give it that feel.

The slower tempo is the only minor niggle, but a couple of other parts are improved - a few nice production flourishes here and there and the ABBA-y bit before the key change where the beat drops out sounds so good.

This is FAB! I agree with whoever said it's a very natural fit for them, it's trademark classic Steps. I'm hearing elements of 'Scared of the Dark's production here.

Also, loving the artwork!

Is 'Something In Your Eyes' not just 'Story of a Heart' with the tempo increased?

Please tell me I'm not the only one who hears this? 🙈 Need confirmation that my ears are deceiving me!

This is 'story of my heart' with different lyrics isn't it?
It is absolutely Story of a Heart with a tempo increase and not as good. Not overly keen, hope it grows
I guess it has that distinctive Scandi sound (which in itself is a hefty dollop of both ABBA and Schlager) but aside from the same style build into the chorus I'm not getting SOAH vibes at all. Though I am at a disadvantage in that I adored both songs from release so have prior.

 Something in Your Eyes is fabulous! Definitely hearing an ABBA vibe. It also feels like something they could have released in 1999 (and I mean that in a positive way!)

Love this - such classic Steps (i.e. it sounds like ABBA) and as Jay says its so 1999.

indeed, it’s a full-on bop. i feel like it’s much better than story of a heart? they’re similar because they share the same scandipop sound.

i’m glad they didn’t play too much with the tempo - jenny’s version sounds almost trance-like + i think this version suits steps more.

It is like story of a heart part 2 but nothing wrong with that, I love how they have kept their 90s sound but modernized it and works really well for them from tears on the dancefloor to now.

I can hear a slight similarity to the chorus of the 7th Heaven remix of 'Story of a Heart', but I wouldn't have noticed it unless people hear mentioned it. I agree that the similarity is more to do with the Scandi sound.

I've had this on repeat today, think it has already exceeded 'What the Future Holds' for me!
