It's as if people *must* like them because you do... (I dislike neither, for the record... There's just tonnes of songs that I prefer)

It's coming at multiple people for having a differing taste to you isn't really cool, and should be called out. Mine was dressed with a kiss (which I took as tongue in cheek, and that may well be the intention [i don't think he's being malicious or anything])... But Colm wasn't even referring to them, and these songs that Colm is absolutely allowed to dislike are being defended in a seemingly personal way. No harm intended, just saying what I see. 😘

May 19, 20214 yr Semi final 1 being so stacked with great songs meant something was sadly always going to get the cut (Croatia). I'm struggling to compile a top 10 I want to see get through from semi 2 other than Serbia and San Marino.

May 19, 20214 yr I missed Semi Final One and watched it this morning. Malta, Israel and Cyprus were great and powerhouse performances. The stage is amazing and the final is shaping up to be a well delivered Eurovision and the presenters are great. I didn't understand the staging from Ireland at all and it didn't do anything for the song. Croatia should have qualified.

I could see that being a believable top 5 of the televote? I'd be surprised if Cyprus wasn't top five on the televote. I suspect Tusse got a big jury lift although it's nice to see him selling well so he no doubt wasn't far off the televote top five if he wasn't in it. I've always thought that Norway would be a likely televote magnet. It's a striking performance, he's a unique and standout performer who you can really feel the passion and emotion from, and the song is catchy pop, which usually goes down well. In fact I'm not so sure he'll have ended up doing any worse than KEiiNO would have done on the televote with Monument if they'd been chosen. That would have likely had more jury appeal and probably done a little better overall, but I've never thought of TIX as the disastrous choice many have painted it as over the last few months.
May 19, 20214 yr Was really ill last night and struggled to really contribute to this thread but 9 out of my 10 predictions made it through (Belgium making it over Croatia, but I'd predicted Belgium 11th, so no big shock) so I'm really pretty happy with the results. THRILLED that 'Mata Hari' made it because that felt quite borderline to me but the performance was fantastic on the night :wub:
