The actual anniversary is Thursday the 4th hopefully something might be planned for the actual anniversary day and give it a boost on the last chart day.

The second they do something as 4 of them to promote it (obviously Victoria won’t go near them with a barge pole) I’ll buy a copy. Even the 20th anniversary got a video from 3 of them. As long as it’s a lazy cash in I’m not bothering with it.

Had this been before I started selling my stuff I would have bought everything 🤣.

I have no interest in CDs whatsoever but just seen the unboxing. It looked really great especially the book and those photocards, just ordered it.

What does it have to do with anything? They won't waste the media excitement for a reunion before a tour is announced.

Yeah they are behind the release they just know they can't waste the buzz of the next time the 4 be seen together on anything that isn't a huge deal. It's why they are seen as such a huge act still because when they are together it's huge news and it makes everyone want to get a glimpse of them.

The 2019 tour wouldn't have been anywhere near as big if you saw them together now and again doing bits and bobs. The 2019 tour was a chance to get a glimpse of something rare and magical. I completely get it from their point of view. As a fan it can be frustrating though

It is beautiful and so much heavier and better quality than I was expecting.

I will also absolutely eat my hat about Mel C on this. Even in the Apple Music interview she surprised me with her comment on C U Next Tuesday, saying it's 'brilliant' and that she has plans for it.

It was vetoed for the Spice 25 campaign, I wonder who by??!! My money is now on Gerita!

I guess the 5 of them voted. So I bet the two Poshes said no. We don’t want to disappoint the Commonwealth and the Fashion Industry. I’m sure these songs will leak someday somehow.

Hearing the Dolby Atmos versions of Spice tracks is such an interesting yet weird experience. They mostly sound like alternative versions, what with there being so many different elements in them that aren't recognisable from the versions we've known for 25 years  They're not necessarily better, they don't come across as improved to me... just different. Is this really how the songs were always meant to be heard if it wasn't for the restrictions of just having two channels for the stereo versions? So why would certain ad-libs be totally missing from the normal versions (i.e. "when I'm with ya honey" in Something Kinda Funny), surely that could have been included all along if they'd wanted to have it in there? Why is it only included in the Dolby Atmos version?

I'd love to know more from the producers, and anyone else who was involved in creating the Dolby Atmos versions!

Someone please ask Melanie C more info about CU Next Tuesday. By the way, am I the only one obsessed with OOTG?

Deserved to be #1 at least to convince Sticky Vicky to join the group for future projects. That bee.

Personally Im not totally convinced on that front, as the release is lacking on many fronts to deserve to be #1

BUT a Top5 of a re-release of an album that has been re-released on vinyl and is already well streamed online, is quite impressive. It shows very well that there is still interest in them as a musical group and they *should* absolutely capitalise on this.

The main criticisms I have seen so far online, in the midst of the whole positivity, has been about people wanting more music and more incentives, so they can only go up from here if they want to!

They wont sell like before, they need to understand that the market has changed a lot. But they can sell well and tour alongside it. That's the best case scenario for them. ABBA's latest album is selling really well, even if the singles didnt reach #1 (a #8 and #10 is fantastic for them though!). BUt they already have one single that didnt get to Top10 and it is pretty obvious they could do that nowadays with a new song and some CDs.

I see them being at #3 very very good!!

Im very excited today!

Specially also cus just realised that we will listen to a lot of unheard stuff next year for Spice World re-release. Unless I havent heard them, I believe this and Forever demos are still very much unheard right?

Obviously Step To Me will get a proper release, WOMAN most probably too (hey Biff, you promised bitch!!) and im totally looking forward to it now

I will most probably spend much more money with those releases!!

My review for Spice Girls - Spice

Wannabe
The Spice Girls debut album kicks off in almighty style with their debut single ‘Wannabe’, which of course became a mammoth globe topping success that would instantly put the girls on the map for a very bright future ahead. While its success speaks for itself, this track was also the perfect introduction to lead this successful album campaign, as they transformed an overused love song cliché into one that prioritised friendships over relationships. Full of brassy attitude that not only made the girls likeable but showcases their personalities wonderfully. Along with airtight harmonies, glossy production, catchy as hell hooks & amazing upbeat energy that even after 25 years still holds up remarkably well. The song is a firm classic whether you like it or not & while this may not to everyone’s liking – you can’t deny its legacy.

Say You’ll Be There
The album’s 2nd track was also the Spice Girls 2nd single – ‘Say You’ll Be There’. This track is a far more polished & sophisticated offering with sharp arrangements, addictive keyboard lines, cool synths & slick production. The song itself is a brilliant piece of pop music with an instantly memorable chorus that’s full of swagger & panache. This was the perfect follow up to the almighty lead single, in-fact this is even better & perhaps even catchier with the girls vocals sound more tighter with Mel C’s ab-libs completely on point here & then there’s that iconic harmonica solo that breaks the song up beautifully. Yet another classic by the girls.

2 Become 1
Slowing things down now with track 3 & also the 3rd single ‘2 Become 1’ – a stunning romantic ballad with quite an unusual set-up (for its time) where lyrically the track focus’s on how the bonding of two lovers can become so strong that they practically become one entity, through the act of sex. Very rare for a girl-group to show themselves as this vulnerable, as well as being from their perspective. However at the same time the song’s themes were very much on brand for them. The soft-focus strings, twinkling keyboards, classy guitars & intimate production makes this a treat & the girls tender vocals sound fantastic on this wonderful, warm yet elegant number. Definitely one of the Spice Girls best singles of their careers.

Love Thing
The first non-single track on this album that shows the girls are back to their energetic pop sound which lyrically symbolises the girl power message. A fun upbeat number with cool funky rhythms, vibrant beats & catchy hooks. This may not be quite as strong as the previous tracks, but its still a cracking tune & could have made a great single choice following the iconic smash hits of course & dare I say it yet another firm standout moment.

Last Time Lover
Up next is this R&B slow jam which starts off with Mel B’s low tones & retains a sensual groove throughout with heavy hip-hop production. Wouldn’t call this one of the more striking numbers on this album, but it’s just okay.

Mama
Probably the most emotional track on this album – ‘Mama’ which got released as a double a-side alongside the next track as the 4th & final single. I know this is often considered the least appealing of the Spice Girls early singles, but I find it rather sweet with a rather nice uplifting chorus & beautiful harmonies by the girl themselves & the gospel choir towards the end adds a decent flair to an otherwise corny ballad.

Who Do You Think You Are
Ramping things back up is this disco classic ‘Who Do You Think You Are’ which was released alongside track 6 & I think we can all agree that this was the far better track. Catchy, fun, upbeat & brimming with fantastic energy. Loud & in your face with hooks that are undeniable & the disco pastiche production is melodically rich. This is a firm Spice Girls classic that will always remain one of their very best tracks of their careers.

Something Kinda Funny
A perfectly serviceable 90’s R&B jam with nice soothing sounds & rhythms. The vocals also sound quite nice on here with Melanie C’s ab-libs adding some nice textures to this number. An album only track for sure, but the chorus is quite catchy though.

Naked
A soulful & funky little number with classy production that gives this ballad a nice calming feel, yet at the same time has dark tones & cool rhythms running throughout. A firm underrated gem for sure that doesn’t get mentioned enough.

If U Can’t Dance
The final track on the album that ends things brilliantly with this rather funky upbeat number with fun raps by both Mel B & Geri who even adds a Spanish flavour to the mix which rounds things off nicely. Even the samples works incredibly well on here. However this song really bops when its performed live as this is where it really shines. On the whole this is rather decent album track.

Certainly wasn't expecting to see them at #3 today :cheer: Fab!

It barely sold anything yesterday. It won't stay Top 5 at this rate.
