A fantastic second half for Italy, will be interesting to see whether this really is the massive comeback we think it is for Italy, or whether Turkey are simply not as good as we expect them to be (or maybe a bit of both!) Hopefully this sets a precedent for the energy of the matches to come.

June 11, 20214 yr Italy absolutely dominated that. Turkey's wall of defence could only last for so long and pretty much as soon as the second half got underway it collapsed, it's unfortunate for Demiral to have scored the opening goal of the tournament into his own net but at least it didn't really cost them the game. A very impressive bounce back from Italy after missing the World Cup! Loved the remote controlled car :lol:

Last time I watched international football before tonight was when England played Holland in the Nations League in 2019 :lol: , the international tournaments bring the biggest levels of excitement though. Turkey were dreadful tonight, they just parked the bus for practically the whole game and Italy were the deserved winners. It looks like they have a good balance of attacking play and a solid defence with Chiellini in particular making a number of good tackles. That's 9 games they've won in a row now without conceding a goal so it's looking like they will go very far in the tournament at this rate. If Wales are anything like how they were in 2016 then they should beat Turkey which would probably be enough to qualify them for the knockout stage.
