Posted June 10, 20214 yr Noel Gallagher Takes Tiresome (And, Actually, Inaccurate) Swipe At Little Mix After Brits Win The former Oasis star was evidently not happy about Little Mix's groundbreaking Best British Group win. By Daniel Welsh Last month, Little Mix made history as the first girl band in history to be awarded Best British Group at the Brit Awards. Accepting the award at London’s The O2 Arena, the band took the opportunity to shout out the UK girl groups that helped pave the way for them, while also highlighting the “white male dominance, misogyny, sexism and lack of diversity” they’ve faced throughout their almost 10-year journey in the music industry. It’s unfortunate, then, that the group are now facing criticism from one of the category’s past recipients, former Oasis singer Noel Gallagher. Speaking to The Sun, the singer said: “Little Mix, with the greatest respect, are not in the same league as Oasis. Not even in the same f*****g sport.” Elaborating further, Noel continued: “It’s a symptom of the music business chasing the numbers – and there not being any bands or songwriters in those bands. “Record company guys constantly say, ‘Oh, these guys are the real deal’. And I think, ‘You wouldn’t know the real deal if it f***ing bit you on the a***, mate’. I don’t know what happened — I think it’s because bands are hard work.” It’s worth noting that Little Mix have writing credits on all six of their studio albums, with signature tracks like Wings, Move, Shout Out To My Ex and their most recent hit Heartbreak Anthem all having been co-penned by the group themselves. The chart-topping band are currently riding a huge wave of success after Sweet Melody – their final single to feature former band member Jesy Nelson – topped the charts in January, with subsequent singles Confetti and Heartbreak Anthem both breaking the top 10 this month. Two members of the group, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, also have extra reason to celebrate as they’re both currently expecting, making their first public appearance since their respective pregnancy announcements at the Brits. June 10, 20214 yr Author LMAO What a pleb. I honestly cannot stand ANY of the Gallagher brothers (and can't stand Oasis for the most part either - monotonous Brit-Pop stuff is just not my thing) but Noel has recently revealed himself to be the worse of the two. Especially since Liam's reaction to Ariana's One Love Manchester event. His view is (not only inaccurate - as pointed out) insanely outdated, sexist and misogynistic (EVERYTHING THAT LITTLE MIX SPOKE ABOUT IN THEIR DAMN SPEECH!!)
June 10, 20214 yr Yawn, imagine being this angry about a female act finally winning this award - he just comes across so bitter. He clearly doesn't know what he's talking about to say they don't write their own stuff.

June 10, 20214 yr I am so BORED of girl groups being attacked by men. You never see them attacking other male artists for releasing pop music. It's always girls that get the abuse. Thing is, Little Mix could out sing Oasis any day of the week but Oasis couldn't dance or perform choreography like Little Mix can either. It sounds so petty and childish but i'd love to see them challenge them to a sing-off.
June 11, 20214 yr i've literally never seen a contemporary artist come for little mix, it's always some white fossil from the 80s who appreciates "real music" who makes a nasty comment about them, ultimately it's just an old man coming for 3 young women who have fought for everything they have. little mix could do wonderwall but oasis couldn't do no more sad songs x
June 11, 20214 yr It’s so frustrating to be a fan of Oasis’ music each time one of the brothers opens their mouth :’) definitely have to disassociate the two lol. This is embarrassing… the girls fully deserved it
June 11, 20214 yr Do we honestly care what this man has to say? He has been like this for 30+ years and is never going to change. I actually have to say, I was expecting worse coming from him.
June 11, 20214 yr I love oasis music and love Noel's solo work but I hate when he comes out with this kinda thing which usually happens when he is releasing a new album like now.
June 11, 20214 yr Author Liam has likely actually met them and experienced them live due to One Love Manchester. Either that or he knows he doesn't wanna mess with Mixers lmao or he's saying it to be extra petty to Noel lmao - but yeah as I said before, not really a fan of either of them but Liam has definitely been my fave since his response to OLM.
