Okay i have to say it: does anyone else think Uptown Funk is the most random song choice for a Drag Race lip sync? Like I know the song was a cultural reset but it feels like because Yara won production had to give her one of the easiest songs to lip sync/a song that virtually everyone knows the lyrics to at this point

I’m not mad at it I’m just in awe

They normally give them the song the day before the talent show so it’s unlikely it was chosen purely for Yara.

I'm a Jan stan and I honestly thought she deserved to win Ep 2, on the other hand I have completely fallen in love with Ra'jah this season, she's talented, she's funny and she's so sweet, I'm glad she's getting the success and recognition she deserves. Her reactions to winning the challenge and then the lipsync were everything, not to mention the actual lipsync itself.

Not only a random song but such a waste of Coco as lipsync assassin, they could have picked so much better!

Ra'Jah's already gained about 15k Insta followers since the Eps 1 and 2 - although I think she had the least amount of followers on there from the AS6 cast (Serena aside)
Ok but let’s petition to actually have Miss Piggy permanently on the panel please xxx

Just some thoughts!

Not sure I agree with the winner either week so far, although not totally undeserving! Yara and Ra'jah would still be top three in their weeks. I'd have had Jan win week one and Kylie Sonique Love win week two!

I think the right two have gone so far, Silky, Trinity and Ginger haven't impressed at all so far for me, although there's no way Ginger is going home soon as there'd be no point bringing her back for another Allstars!

Love that Ra'jah is having her moment with the fans, she has done very well both weeks so far and had an excellent lip sync with Brooke Lynn so in that respect I'm happy she got that win and that chance to shine! Definitely a high placement both weeks and you can tell she's just more assured and enjoying herself!

It's shaping up to be a good series so far, there's enough personality and quality across the board to create the storylines and wow moments! I think AS5 lacked that tension of who will do good/bad, whereas this time one bad week and a queen could go!

I would have knocked out Trinity and Yara so far. I actually was surprised that they didn't do the AllStars WIN-OUT thing with Yara like they have done before.

Ra'Jah, A'keria, Kylie and probably Scarlet are doing it for me so far. I am mixed on this run for Jan although I am such a fan. Redoing her ball look for me felt too soon and kind of unnecessary.

kylie's first two looks were great but the third was a piece of fabric tied around her waist and some more fabric glued to a bra!!!

sad for jan and scarlet already as they have done great both weeks but being kept safe. a'keria is also rly doing it for me after i was v lukewarm on her in s11

Is it just me or is there an arrogant feel to Brooklyn Hytes, something I can’t put my finger on.

You got that from just a few mins of airtime? Give her a chance

I was totally living for Kylie Sonique's Stripped tribute on the runway, certainly my highlight so far

I agree- I couldn’t tell you exactly what it is but her appearance on the episode as well on CDR is just off

Loving this season so far, even after only 2 episodes I already find it far better than Season 13 & that abomination Down Under season, Hell this is even better than All Stars 5 (which was simply average at best), hope they keep up the high standard.
However I do think the talent show for episode 1 is starting to get a little tiresome (5 series in a row now) & the producers/RuPaul may need to start thinking of some new ideas. But anyway the opening episode was GREAT with a fantastic cast & nice to see so many of them grown since their respective seasons. The standouts from the talent show are Yara, Ra'Jah, Jan, Scarlet & Pandora.
Yara fully deserved the win & Ra'Jah deserved her high placement, but would have given Scarlet the other high placement, as well as Jan whose vocals were amazing. I wish they kept the format of 2 winners for All-Stars as this could have been a Yara VS Ra'Jah lipsync.

The bottom 2 were correct, Serena's act didn't go anywhere, what was the point of those wigs? & Trinity yeah she flopped that stand-up routine, nerves got the better of her, as soon as she stuttered, I knew this wasn't gonna go down well. This follows in the tradition of contestants doing stand-up in Week 1 & bombing i.e. Jasmine Masters & Derrick Barry, but thankfully Trinity didn't go home, & think she'll definiately turn things around. As for Serena, think she was only there to go home early, although it was nice to see her drag evolved.

Silky wasn't that bad & don't think she deserved her low placement, I would have given that to either Jiggly, whose dance routine was quite messy & didn't go anywhere & A'Keria's performance was kinda boring.

My opinions on all the talent show performances:

Jan: She sounded great on her song, those vocals were stellar, but not enough to make it to top 3 (top 4 maybe), but her safe placement was justified here.
Pandora Boxx: A great start for her, especially after that cruel twist of fate on her All-Stars 1 appearance (to be fair I would have given up if I got paired with Mimi). Her talent show performance was fun & nice to see her getting off to a strong start.
Jiggly Caliente: Her performance was pretty basic & would have swapped Silky for her in the bottom 3.
Kylie Sonique Love: Her variety show performance stood apart from the rest of the lip syncs by being slower and sultry, though it was nonetheless definitely safe. I predict big things for her this season.
Ra'Jah O'Hara: Her variety show trick of making a dress and putting it on in just 60 seconds was a genuine gag, and showed off a talent so much more unique than the majority of the queens’.
A'Keria Davenport: This performance was high energy, but felt that it lacked that special something.
Trinity K. Bonet: That comedy performance was one of the absolute worst. There was some good material in there, but nerves got the better of her.
Eureka: a tribute to their mother, was beautiful, and I’ll give them major props for thinking about a ballad visually in terms of the projections on their dress. But it wasn’t the type of performance that wins the variety show.
Scarlet Envy: Her bubble burlesque performance was a ton of fun & quite the breath of fresh air after several lip-sync/dance routines. This could have easily been another contender for a high placement in this episode.
Silky Nutmeg Ganache: At least she tried something a little different with a gospel performance, even if it was a tad pitchy, this was safe at best & didn't deserve bottom 3.
Serena Cha Cha: Unfortunately, after a wig-based lip-syncing act that showed a lack of polish, there really wasn’t a more reasonable result than sending Serena home first.
Ginger Minj: Already her variety show performance was far better than the one she did on All-Stars 2, which was too low-key, This was far better.
Yara Sofia: Hilarious performance & something only Yara could pull off, a great start for her WELL DONE.
