Out in 4 hours. Chorus sounds strong from the clip on Instagram. Next week’s no.1?

This is not bad on first listen, decent enough but I’m not sure I’m a fan of it switching between Korean and English for most of the song. I think it has a huge chance of beating Ed next week and it will be an interesting battle!

I really like it. Would be great to see it grabbing a week or two at Number 1

It's pretty decent, I think Ed will hold it off #1 though.

What's next, a Coldplay collaboration with Psy? Cardi B? They are becoming as desperate as Madonna. :wacko:

This sort of thing is really ageist! Seriously, why on Earth can’t older artists collaborate with younger ones? And it’s always totally selective towards certain people - nobody ever says Tony Bennet is desperate for working with Gaga, nor Elton for working with Dua. Plus Tom Jones got away with an entire album.

 

 

It's a good track, the chorus is strong and melodic, the production fits with the big 80s synth revival going around at the moment, and the long instrumental outro is quite unconventional for a pop hit these days.

 

I'd like to see it No.1 purely because it would be good for Coldplay to get another at this stage in their career and it's amazing that BTS still haven't had one.

I mean it’s no ‘Viva La Vida’ but I’m loving it. Can’t get the chorus out my head.

Coldplay using BTS' fanbase for a hit does come off a bit cold/empty move for a band who would NEVER have collaborated with a K Pop artist for any other reason but that being said this is an absolute bop.

It's brilliant marketing, they know they can get another top 5 hit worldwide which I doubt they would have managed. This song is great though so hope it does prove to be successful.

Gosh I'm trying, but I can't really say this is interesting me at all. Just a pretty average pop song and quite typical of sellout Coldplay, they have done this before and it has grown on me despite that (see A Sky Full of Stars) though so...who knows, but right now the best thing about it is the production on the outro.

 

If there is a chance it can get to number 1 I'd be behind it though if just to stop this Sheeran stranglehold!

I really like this. I can see this being a decent sized hit with longevity - outside of the inevitable BTS fandom purchasing en masse.

Well although the army didn’t care enough for a U.K. no.1 they’re predicted to be the next US no.1 and only Coldplay’s second after ‘Viva la Vida’. Just need to wait ffor Monday’s confirmation

I'm sure that a BTS #1 in the UK will inevitably happen one day but it is weird that they couldn't capitalise on what should have been a relatively easy chance to get one right now.

 

This going to #1 in the US was of course never in any doubt at all. The only question is how long the army can be bothered to keep it there. I suspect it'll only be one week this time since it's not a BTS lead single (similar to 'Savage Love (Laxed - Siren Beat)') but we'll see.
