It's not really doing it for me either, I have to admit. It's passable but a lot of it feels very "heard this a million times before" and perfunctory, I expected better considering some of what we've heard already.

I honestly couldn't disagree more, I think pretty much every song on the album is a keeper. Some bangers, some beauties, some sell out Charli, some classic Charli. I guess with albums that kind of provide "something for everyone", they can fail to hit the mark on any of them to some people but definitely not for me in this case.

All four singles are amazing, I can't get enough of Baby right now. Then there's Used To Know Me, Yuck and Lightning on the album which I think are all FANTASTIC. Twice and Constant Repeat are pretty beautiful. Every Rule is probably the only one not doing much for me, I think it's SUCH a strong album. Paced perfectly too!

For me there are very obvious high points to the album, but overall the project feels like something that's been done before and done much better. Definitely feels more phoned in than previous projects.
For example, the album "Reboot" by Wonder Girls is an album from 7 years ago that does this neo-nostalgic pop sound much better and more cohesively. Or even more recently, Future Nostlagia (although the references are very clearly different, it's a more successful attempt at the vibe).

Surprised to read people aren't enjoying this — it sounds like an album packed with hits. I think it is her first project where she has managed to properly balance being a major label popstar with hyperpop auteur Charli.

I really didn't like this upon my first listen yesterday. Seemed very throwaway and lazy but this is Charli so I'll give it a few more tries.
Talking of influences does anyone hear Katy Perry's 'This Is How We Do' in 'Yuck' - particularly the chorus?

I hear that! This Is How We Do put through a Gwen Stefani meets Kiss Me More kind of soundscape. It’s definitely got the This Is How We Do flow and bounce to it now you mention it.

The album is right up more street! I had to get the vinyl

Supposedly this is the artwork for the forthcoming Deluxe:

I was never a huge fan but I’ve ended up with the white , red/black marble and grey vinyls.

Cassette and CD....

It’s album of the year for me so far.

Saw this posted on Popjustice, this is apparently coming out on Friday:

13. Selfish Girl 3:14

14. How Can I Not Know What I Need Right Now 2:37

15. Sorry if I Hurt You 2:41

16. What You Think About Me 3:04

Kind of surprised they didn't get Out Out onto the Deluxe!

It's rare for me to not skip at least one song from an album, but "Crash" is soooooo good. And the album cover could be a classic. This could be Charli XCX's masterpiece.
This is a no skips album. It is easy enough to listen to and there's some good variation in the production of the tracks. Really like how Yuck sounds

'Yuck' only needs the TikTok girlies to find it and then it'll be everywhere — big hit potential

'Lightning is the one for me though — that Spanish guitar is ridiculous and ingenious. It really does sound like the various sounds of her career in one song

I cannot get over how perfect this is! Constant Repeat is a 10/10 all day long but 'move me' is now my favourite. Like blacksquare said, the spanish guitar in 'lightning' is ingenious.

Cannot wait to see her live! The true queen of pop!

I can only echo comments already posted in this thread - a great listen from start to finish and perfectly paced. I can definitely pick up on the Janet Jackson-'Control' influences Charli talked about, particularly on 'Baby', and the whole thing gives me slightly Dua Lipa-'Future Nostalgia' vibes. The aforementioned 'Baby' and 'Used to Know Me' are stuck in my head big time, plus 'Yuck' and 'Lightning' are standing out from the songs not released before the album.

Not that it has very much competition at all, but this is currently my album of the year.

That's actually a great way to describe it!
