Posted October 17, 20213 yr LITTLE MIX will announce next month that they are breaking up, we can reveal. The Sun told last week how the girls – Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall– will pursue solo careers after their 2022 tour. And sources close to the group said they plan to formally announce the split in mid-November. One said: “There has been a lot of speculation about the future of Little Mix but it is now very clear that the end of the road has been reached. “A date is set to announce the split. The upcoming tour is going to be a farewell to their fans.” Source: The Sun https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/artic...TING-month.html https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/16445...-up-next-month/ Just Carol Honey  Edited October 17, 20213 yr by Slayer
October 17, 20213 yr For whatever reason I can't see them officially announcing a "split" as such. I imagine they'll just continue to be a group even if they won't release more music.
October 17, 20213 yr Author For whatever reason I can't see them officially announcing a "split" as such. I imagine they'll just continue to be a group even if they won't release more music. I agree. I think it will be more like a spice girls type of thing where they all go off and do solo music/present etc then will do reunion tours or a one of album down the road. Like the wanted are doing now. October 17, 20213 yr Above all else I don't think it's a good business decision to go for the option and announce a 'split'. They have a huge amount of followers and monthly listeners, they should use them to promote their solo stuff, and add their solo songs to the little mix playlists. A kpop esque approach of having the odd comeback with solo projects littered around it would be much more sustainable for them long term, and they could even do tours with group and solo segments Edited October 17, 20213 yr by Benji89
October 17, 20213 yr This won't be a surprise if it does happen. Losing a member and then two of the others becoming mothers and the release of a Greatest Hits all points towards a hiatus at least. But they'll be back in a few years, with a documentary that reunites them with Jesy probably.
October 17, 20213 yr I don't know if a group has done this before, but I don't see why they couldn't do an album of Little Mix and solo songs. For example, have 5 LM group songs and then 3 solo songs each.
October 17, 20213 yr They really are going to be the last Western big girl group for a long time aren’t they? :( They’ve been pretty much the only group since Fifth Harmony split aside from a short lived Pussycat Dolls reunion.

For example, have 5 LM group songs and then 3 solo songs each. Girls Aloud used to do similar, although not quite to that extent. Anyway, anything The Sun or the Daily Mail publish has to be taken with a very big pinch of salt as it's widely acknowledged they tend to be about as truthful as Pinocchio.
October 17, 20213 yr Tbh The Sun is usually super reliable when it comes to Little Mix/Jesy. I can see them taking a break for a few years, but there is no doubt in my mind that they'll come back. It'll be a sad day when this is announced, the girls have kept us fed for 10 years and given us so so much.
October 17, 20213 yr Can definitely see them taking a hiatus. I would love to see all 4 reform down the line, but regardless of how much truth there is to a fall out, some tough conversations would need to be held I am all for Jade having some solo success - any of them to be honest.
October 17, 20213 yr You never know, maybe the whole Jesy drama has compelled them to stay together longer and make another album.
October 17, 20213 yr I want them to stay doing LM 100% there’s still massive demand. Look how well the tours sold! I don’t think they should officially announce anything, just go quiet for 2 years or so and then come back with a new album. Hiatus / solo projects announced officially might not be the best idea if they do reform.
October 17, 20213 yr I hope that if they really do announce a hiatus, they’ll announce european tour dates at the same time because we deserve a goodbye tour too..
October 17, 20213 yr I see them staying together while working on other projects and releasing music but just less prominent. Simon Jones insta posts confirmed he will be working with leigh so i assume the girls will remain . leigh having dua’s manager as her manager tho
October 17, 20213 yr I think they are crazy to split, if we look at the history of girl/,boyband the solo careers are limited with some members having little success. They are still hugely popular and they have continuously managed to stay relevant and kept their music fresh. 10 years in and still scoring big hits is something not many have managed.
October 17, 20213 yr I have more I wanna say on this situation but Im at work and will post more later, for now though... Y'all are acting as if music is their only option on solo ventures "boy band/girl groups going solo as some members have limited/no sucess" etc.. but who's to say they're gonna continue with music? I'm sure there will be something from at least one of them, but I can def see them being successful in other aspects. Jade will smash presenting, Leigh with her fashion stuff and Perrie has the largest following out of ALL of them (Jesy included) so whatever she ventures off to do will be a big success. There's already commotion surrounding Disora! So even if they were to go solo I don't think it'll be quite as simple as them doing music on their own. I low-key see Jade doing a Nicola and releasing a great album but focusing on songwriting and presenting projects more tbh.

I wonder if they want to go out on a high. Their albums have slowly declined in sales over the years so maybe they think now Jessie has left, instead of going on as a trio they will work on their solo projects and be remembered for how successful they were as a band. It is going to be very interesting over the next few months. Just Carol Honey

October 17, 20213 yr I would think they would have best chance to springboard into other ventures if they do go out on a high. The Search was, don't forget, essentially a foray into tv presenting. Same as their youtube cooking thing.
