Yes I do think 4th favourite to win is very optimistic but he has a very solid shot at top ten, I do hope the public actually pick up the phone and vote for him if they love it and it's not like jury 160 points, public 6 points.

I called it!

It hasn't happened yet. Nobody has called anything.

For context, we were top 5 in the odds to win it for a week before the song was even officially announced.

I hope it does well. It deserves and should get plenty of jury points. But I'm not confident the televote will play in its favour. We'll need to see what the staging is like.

I really want the UK and Spain to do well. It would be really good for the contest to have those two do well.

Oh no you better DON'T!!!!

But terrible staging sucked the life out of potential winner, Electro Velvet, and destroyed the entry... But with him all they need is a band and maybe some man and woman doing fabric gymnastics above him from the roof.

You are reet tbh.

The BBTory, knowing that affirmation that Europe doesn't hate us would make Brexshit fail, sabotaged CERTAIN WINNERS Electro Velvet by giving them absolutely terrible staging. This ensures the Swedes win, and as they are encroaching on Ireland (who we claim as our own)'s record of wins, that just adds to the air of smug continentals permeating the contest. So far, so good. But this wouldn't do. To ensure that Brexshit remains unchallenged and is given a smooth passage through Parliament despite the efforts of grasping European elites to control our destiny, superior British entries must fail time and time again at the hands of inferior Ukrainians (singing about the year the British personally saved them from the Nazis just to infuriate the good British people even more), Portuguese and, just so the left don't get too cocky, the Israelis too.

But that's not enough. No, the Brits must be beat at their own game even more to stoke the fires of hatred towards the continent and ensure Tory rule for all-time, the BBC alongside them. Therefore, the British must see the Europeans win at a genre they have perfected, boring piano ballads - and along comes a Dutchman to do just that, meanwhile perfect British talent show balladry, key change and all, that would have won Eurovision with ease in times past, must be cruelly thrown into last place, and the BBC engineeered this as well, bribing fans across the continent to look the other way when the intensely charismatic Michael Rice performed. And still, one final indignity must be suffered, the UK must hear 'nul points' and did that very well last year.

Now, only now, can Britain finally return to its rightful place atop the continental hierarchy. We have been beaten, humiliated, but it was all necessary to serve the greater good of keeping our population in line, ready and willing to meet the threat from the continent. And finally, this year, this year we are heading for victory and I have full confidence in our acrobats and bands to elevate 'Space Man' across that line. So be it by St George and let slip the dogs of war

THIS!!!

  • 4 weeks later...

Actually no idea, Precious in 1999 I would guess? Not 100% sure they did playlist that though but it was a top 10 hit that stuck around for a few weeks so I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

It's quite a big deal for Sam and it's nice, for once, to go into the contest with a well regarded entry that has been consistently quite high on iTunes, getting played by both Radio 1 and 2, has decent enough streaming figures. It feels like this is the most we've got behind our own entry pre-contest for a long time, I'll be extremely disappointed if we get a really low public vote again. As for the juries, I can't see how it won't be in the top 10 there personally.

It's my favourite UK entry since Molly and I think we could be seeing our best result since Jade, for sure. There seems to be a LOT of good will for him.

Getting a Tik Tok star was the best thing the BBC could do rn tbh.

I'd take left hand side of the table tbh. Decent enough jury support but prob next to nothing in the televote. I'm not a fan of the song but I get why it's popular on here.

Interestingly this is already getting some airplay outside the UK. I’ve heard it a lot on Swedish station Rix FM Fresh.

Actually regardless if it flops on the televote/overall, I do think it could be a big radio/small chart hit across Europe, it’s not dissimilar to a lot of the British music that charts internationally all year round anyway. It really will be a shame if his public vote is poor, unlike almost every other entry of ours recently, I don’t think it would deserve it.

It was also played in the background of EastEnders today and it’s No.11 in the UK airplay chart. The relevance.

Up to the B-List on Radio One!

The BBC have high hopes for this it would seem. Getting moved up to A-List will likely depend on how we do in Eurovision I suspect, but that's still great regardless. It's nice to see them believe in our own entry tbh.

My cousin a non eurovision fan has been going on about how good the song is. I think the uk from what I'm seeing online etc are looking very safe to at least end the night on the left side of the scoreboard but top 10 is starting to look like a real possibility.
Rehearsal looks INSANE, at this point I'm very confident in top 10 at the very least
