Other entries:

1 Ed - Overpass Graffiti

22 DBE - No Competition

26 Joel Corry - I Wish

40 SwitchOTR - Coming For You

47 Meduza - Tell It To My Heart

65 Abba Cadabra - Double Tap

69 Da Beatfreakz - Money Calling

72 Acraze - Do It To It

79 M Huncho - Hiatus

The Da Beatfreakz and Raye song I thought would have been higher in the chart. It's easily the best of the new UK rap entries this week imo.

Is HMV even that much of a force these days? I’d say 5,000 extra sales at the most from HMV preorders and Friday sales tbh.
Well, HMV data missing for Friday is potentially kind of a big deal - I don't think it'll be enough to swing his sales into something that won't still be underwhelming, but it could definitely explain how he's only barely beaten the Monday midweek of a late stage Coldplay album. (Is it really only Friday missing for HMV? A bit odd if we have the HMV sales for Saturday and Sunday but not Friday )

Defo just Friday

Casual on-the-day sales probably no, but I'd imagine a fairly decent chunk of his pre-orders will have been from HMV?

(I say this with absolutely no evidence, you might be right xx)

OK so Bad Habits not in contention for #1 then even with its true sale being nearly double the 12.5k currently showing. Think it will probably end up at #3 though with Overpass Grafiti at #4.

Anyway, forget about Ed, who cares about that floppy fad.

Adele? No1curr, more like Flopdele.

Drake? Lol.

All of these people are truly and utterly IRRELEVANT compared to the actual biggest chart story of the week :w00t:

That's right...

6 Joe Bonamassa - Time Clocks *

SOIx5oO.gif

#6. The Right Honorable Sir Sir Joe "Bonama$$ive" "Bona$ma$ha" Bonamassa OBE MBE CBE is back stronger, faster, more Bonama$$ive than ever before. Fad Sheeran and Flopdele will scream to the heavens: "Save us, oh merciless king! Deliver us from our eternal void of signed CDs and 5 hour stays at #1!"

And The Right Honorable Sir Sir Joe "Bonama$$ive" "Bona$ma$ha" Bonamassa OBE MBE CBE will look down and simply whisper "no...."

Screech and pop brat Fad Sheeran shit

Bonamassa god Bona$ma$ha.

The end.

Yo flop music taste lol

The opening day of the biggest music shop should be a big rise I’d imagine. Especially if that includes pre-orders.

I bought it in HMV on Friday and many others in the shop were too.

Still it is much lower than I’d have imagined even if it’s 100k to this point. I was expecting 300k at worst for the week.

Be interesting to see if ABBA and Adele underperform against expectations to gauge if it’s a market related drop or more of a popularity related drop.

That’s very underwhelming for Ed. I knew you were all over estimating Ed and Adele (it’s sad really how bad sales are for what are the country’s biggest acts - the beginning of the real end for albums??).
The numbers are certainly lower than I was expecting for Ed, but some people had their expectations way too high lol. 300k at worst? 500k in the bag? That was never going to happen realistically. I went with 200k in the poll, and while it does seem like he'll open with less than that, he should get around 150k so the numbers aren't some kind of earth shattering disappointment for me lol

There will certainly be some questions if the ABBA album hasn't at the very least cleared 110k sales in the first midweeks... (unless of course there are a bunch of pre-orders not yet accounted for again)

I was skeptical at first but it now seems quite likely that ABBA will have a higher opening than Ed, nonetheless at least for a week Ed still might be about to have the highest opening week sale since his own '÷' (the current benchmark for that is 131,622 for Eminem's 'Revival' and that could definitely still be achievable if he's missing a significant chunk of HMV sales), kind of speaks volumes about the health of album sales in general that he might still be achieving that even with an album that is a fairly undeniable underperformance.

Top 5 sales now in this post with missing data info - significantly, no HMV for Friday...!

Single sales yesterday:

12.0k Shivers

11.7k East On Me

10.1k Bad Habits [on SCR, where it would currently be #4]

9.2k Cold Heart

6.6k Overpass Graffiti

I'm assuming this is Saturday's Spotify, Apple & YouTube combined with Sunday's Amazon, smaller streaming services and sales data?

i prefer when people go west on me x

Do we expect Adele to be number one by Friday?
Do we expect Adele to be number one by Friday?

It'll be close but I expect Shivers to take it.

It will be interesting to see ABBA’s midweek album sales next Monday. I’ve heard their preorders are at 125k so their sales could be much higher than Ed’s next week.
Easy on me is back to #1 on Apple Music...don't know how many cd will sell graffiti ma Adele still favourite for me

If ‘Overpass Grafetti’ can’t make it I would rather Adele gets a third week!

Underwhelming for Ed, hope the HMV data takes it over 100k and the daily figures aren’t like 5-7k a day!

Do we expect Adele to be number one by Friday?

Either Adele or Shivers. I imagine both will have overtaken Overpass Graffiti in the next mids and Bad Habits will surely also overtake it on SCR.

Ed won't be as frontloaded as Coldplay, should still finish in the 150k-200k region by the end of the week but that will be a lot less than he was probably hoping for.
