Unfortunately four Artist Forums have now closed - Ava Max, Calvin Harris, Olivia Rodrigo and Shawn Mendes. Calvin and Shawn have been a part of the line-up for a short while now but are more suited to their respective genre forums at this point. Ava and Olivia have been short-term and unfortunately haven't quite paid off as risks due to a general lack of material to discuss.

 

Thanks so much for the effort put in by the mods - as explained already, none of these closures are the fault of the moderators, quite the opposite in fact :heart:

How the Zara and Rita forums survive is bizarre to me :lol:

 

I'm a fan of both but don't think there's enough activity for either that couldn't just be in the pop forum, especially when compared to some other artist forums.

Just because a forum hasn't been axed, doesn't mean it's off our radars!

Thanks to all the mods involved with those forums! There was no harm in giving them a go but yeah these decisions make sense.

Pretty sad to see Olivia go - although one album and such isn't really enough to engage loads of people and continuous discussion.

Wondered where 3 of my visible AFs had gone. Shame about Calvin but a dance producer forum was never going to have the legs unfortunately.

 

Also I'm no fan of hers but axing Rodrigo already seems a bit premature? Give her a chance she's only been around 5 minutes :lol:

A chance to do what though? She’s the biggest breakout star of the year but no one wanted to talk about her.

I think it would've picked up with her second album again. She is my favourite breakout star of the year but I didn't participate much so blame is on me (and everyone else who likes her but didn't discuss what she's been doing). Still, I would've though that Rita Ora got axed instead. Does she even have a singing career any more apart from couple of features here and there?

An AF being deleted doesn't mean it can never return (see: Sugababes)! If Olivia interest picks up for album 2 then the forum can potentially return but there's no point keeping a dead forum on the off chance.

It’s been a wild journey but I just can’t put any focus into the AF anymore and is the main reason why I stepped down from the AF and as Inner Circle mod

I'm sorry I didn't post in either more but a big thanks to those who've kept the Rita and Zara forums going over the last few years! Looks like there might be some room for new artist forums in the near future :o

It’s always exciting to think that, but really, what new artist forums would work?

In all honesty I don't know - but I'd like to think that the right artist with the right group of people behind it would still produce a successful forum.

I don’t really think the site is popular enough to have an artist that is warrant a forum, we tried so many options and nothing worked out.

 

There’s only five forums that are really warrant their own AF but if you have that low then there’s not much point at all.
