Surprised but delighted to see Little Mix are doing so well with what's effectively just a greatest hits. How much had Confetti sold during the first set of mids last year?

Interesting first set of figures - my signed Taylor CDs have not shipped yet (not sure if that’s the same for everyone else?)
LM will get it with their 20 dieffrent versions... Really it's on another level. Anyway rooting for the best album of this week. Red.

Hardly it’s no different to most artists who have multiple formats.

I hate it when people belittle artists for trying to claim as many sales as possible!

Little Mix will be 3, which is a good outcome!

It’s a great outcome for sure considering there’s no hype around it and they haven’t performed in over a year.

Just shows how well Confetti did to secure 34k in the mids.

Exciting! Hoping Little Mix can stay in the Top 3, it'll be really close!

Insane they are only 9 sales behind Taylor. I am still waiting on Taylor and LM orders :P

Would love LM to steal the top spot.

Really? 20 dieffrent packaging, colors, editions doesn't effect the total sales? Lol. At least you believe that.

I don't mind, it's their right but I'm just saying it does.

I wouldn’t say it’s on another level take The Wanted they have even more versions. I wasn’t referring to it boosting sales of course it does just the same as Taylor having multiple versions digitally and signing thousands of cd’s.

I just don’t get why you’ve said it so negatively? The market is dead how can you begrudge anyone trying to maximise sales?

Same as those that moaned about Ed’s 99p Signed cd’s good on them.

But that's how you get good sales on w1, I don't have a problem with that

we've seen it with ABBA last week, the only way to get good sales is if you have a crazy fanbase that buys 9 different colour vinyls and 6 different cassettes

everybody is playing the game, Taylor also had 8 different vinyls of Folklore that just differed by the picture on the cover

but the package inside was the same, but actually don't get why Taylor hasn't played the multi format game this time

sure she could have done more than releasing 1 single vinyl format that is also crazy crazy expensive

At the end of the day artists can release as many formats as they want to inflate sales but there has to be a market for it - it can get too much but as a collector I love it when my favourite artists release multiple versions that add some value to the release plus are collectible but at the same time nobody is forcing me to buy the 15 copies of Kylie or whoever releases.

But £45 for 4 discs is not that bad? Not when artists are charging £30+ for a single disc release.

Also surprised to see Rod not top 4 but he'll be far less front-loaded than your average album I reckon.
Surprised Rod is so far behind although I'd say he will sell fairly consistently for the week, great top 5 sales. Taylor and little mix will be frontloaded so abba could get a second week, if they dont, I hope little mix do it.
Imagine the level of irony it takes as a Taylor fan to accuse another artist for releasing too many versions of a song or album. I just have to laugh at this point.

I believe it is stupidity rather than irony but I agree with you.

but the package inside was the same

A reasonable amount of effort was put into the folklore different vinyl versions - all of these aspects differed across each version: the colour of the vinyl, the back cover image, the gatefold images, the images on the sleeves. The only identical element about the releases was the music.

Taylor may have played the same "multiple formats" game as other artists have in recent years, but Red (Taylor's Version) is a positively restrained 1. CD and 2. Vinyl, in the UK.

The Wanted can hopefully go top 10 as they really are putting in the effort to get there. I never have an issue with multi formats as I like seeing artists trying to get a high chart position as they can and as many sales as possible but it can be tough on fans financially buying all but fans do have the choice to buy them or not.
