My goodness... Well I didn't expect ABBA to vacate number one quite so soon, nor did I expect based on other predictions in recent weeks for Little Mix to be so high up. But I've had my copy of "Between Us" on repeat solidly since Friday and it's success is truly justified. As I said on social media the other day it should be called "Greatest Bops". Bop after bop after bop. Nice to see The Wanted getting a top 10 as well!

So refreshing to have a decent sales week on albums - will be interesting if any of them pull out any tricks to snatch the #1.

Disappointed Sam Fender is only #19 - was expecting to see it up around 13-14.

Mariah at #47 *.*

So she’s likely to enter the top 40 on Friday week then 26/11 which is pretty standard!

Great top 5 sales for the top 5 albums, looking like 20k plus will be acheiveable. Best since last January no doubt!

Apart from sam smith has their ever been an artist charting with the same song twice at the same time
There was plenty of same songs different artists back in the 50s especially!

Ah ok.,

It's not like radio gonna play the 10 minute version either way

Plenty of examples of the same song charting simultaneously with different artists versions, but I think this and Sam Smith are the only examples where it is the same artist and the same song and even that was a version with a new featured artist and apparently specifically requested to be counted separately. Kind of highlights how dumb OCC are been keeping Taylor's tracks apart but they often seem to just make it up as they go along.

ETA: There was also some weird situation that lead to two versions of Je t'aime moi non plus by Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg charting simultaneously in the Top 20 way back in 1969.

^ and The Proclaimers as I posted the other day :kink:

Technically there were also 2 versions of Michael Jackson's 'Black Or White' charting for a couple of weeks in January 1992 as a separate release for the Clivillés & Cole remixes was its own chart entry, appearing right at the tail end of the chart run of the original release. And I think there was once a song that had a second appearance lower down the chart just because it was released on too many formats for the rules at the time so one of the formats counted as a separate entry or something, though I cannot remember what that was. These aren't really comparable to the current / digital era chart rules though.

edit: it was 'Country House' by Blur. Polyhex tags the 2nd chart entry as 'Country House {4th format}'.

Very strange to see the 2 versions of All Too Well charting separately, hopefully that can be fixed before Friday.
There were a couple of Oasis songs that charted within the Top 100 as a fourth format while the rest of the tracks sales charted higher up as well, might be a few more examples of that from the 90s.

Je t'aime was very controversial at the time. The original record company panicked when it looked like getting to number one because they thought it would be bad for their image, so they deleted it. Another label picked it up and released it (exactly the same version) and it duly went to number one.

I don't know if since then there's been a way for signatures to be verified and authenticated.

All it takes is determining (by using scientific methods) whether Taylor's fingerprints are found on the signed booklet, I should think.

Avril's "Bite Me" at #53. I hope it manages to hold on to a top 100 place come Friday, but I don't think it will. :(

^ songs don't usually fall that hard between Monday and Friday (apart from songs that have just shown up because of a physical release), I think #53 is more than secure enough to stay comfortably in the top 100.

<scrooge>Would be nice to have at least one more Christmas song free top 40 before all the nonsense starts again. </scrooge>

Especially as singles charts are fairly interesting and busy past few weeks .
