Over the 200 point mark with the song that returned the brothers Gibb to the top spot for the first time in 8 years and the only time in the decade as performers.

'You Win Again' is a very good song. It has been one of my favourite Bee Gees songs for a while.

I do like the Bee Gees' later output - Alone and For Whom The Bell Tolls are very good too from the 90s.

It may only have got 8 voters to give it votes but TWO of you gave it 30 points- so take a bow Jade and Jimwatts. It is however the favourite chart topper of 1982 as it becomes the first year to leave the rate altogether!

Some real classics dropping now, The Model is fantastic (both in English and German x) and the two Jam songs are brilliant. I'm surprised to see You Win Again so high, but I've always really liked it, must've just missed my votes.

Aw shucks :nocheer: really thought The Model would make the final 10 here. For a band that pioneered electronic music, getting a UK #1 was simply iconic.

That's my top 4 all out now  though I think the rest of my top 10 are still in.

Nice choice of 30 Jim and Jade! Sorry I only gave it 2, but it is fab.

You Win Again is great too; surprising how few and rare The Bee Geees’ #1s were really.

 any hint of a dark synth piques my interest and 'The Model' was a real gateaway for my love of this type of synth-pop music. My mind was blown when I found out that 'Das Model' was recorded in the 70s - so ahead of its time, Kraftwerk total pioneers as mentioned by my fellow top pointer Jim. Happy that 'The Model' takes the crown for 1982!

'You Win Again' was such an epic comeback for the Bee Gees long after their disco heyday had gone out of fashion! It has an extra special place in my heart as it's one of my grandad's favourite songs and we're very close, he's a Bee Gees superfan and it came out around the time he was suffering really badly with depression - he told me before that it saved him during those dark days, the power of music.

Much love for 'Let's Dance' too! Another smash that came a bit later on in Bowie's career, like 'You Win Again' for the Bee Gees.

Your grandad clearly has excellent music taste Jade 😁!

Two unreal songs leaving there, I do love that Bee Gees track, probably my favourite of theirs. They really were amazing song writers.

Again like many of my comments how did I not vote for ‘The Model’ unreal track!! And how is 1982 the first year out, best year of the decade for me!

Kraftwerk do have better songs than The Model (my dad has a few of their CDs so I am familiar with quite a few of their songs) but its a very good #1 all the same.

 any hint of a dark synth piques my interest and 'The Model' was a real gateaway for my love of this type of synth-pop music.

Same here and also that's the reason I was able to like Zhu-Faded and Disciples-They Don't Know when they were played on the radio back in 2014-5, because some parts of those songs reminded me of Kraftwerk in style!

“The Model” is of course an absolute classic - very pleased to see it land so high. I did see Kraftwerk perform at Latitude in 2013. The same year that I saw CHVRCHES in a small stage in the forest with a small crowd - Bloc Party and Foals headlined that year too!

New rate record of 17 voters out of 31 gave this points making it our third most popular chart topper of 1984. It’s also their highest placed track and naturally launched them in a blaze of controversy when the track was banned by TOTP and Radio 1.

Madonna’s second favourite chart topper of the 80s is also our most popular No 1 of 1985 as the year exits the rate. She only has 1 entry in the top 20 as this falls at the last hurdle despite Bjork giving it 30 points!
