I've loved There Used To Be A Darkness since I discovered it in 2019 so I'm overjoyed to see it win Unknown Pleasures. That's my second song contest win of the year after never winning one before and both of them with long songs of course.

happy to finish 5th with Lucy Dacus. Night Shift is such a masterpiece in songwriting. Best breakup song ever. The storytelling alone is incredible and it's a perfect mix of dark sad lyrics but with a sense of humour. The part that goes "you got the 9 to 5/ so I'll take the night shift/and I'll never see you again/If I can help it", kills me every time. Thanks for all that voted for her.

Congrats Rollo! :D Finally we can put this to bed :) Absolutely delighted to finish at the top half and probably my best UP result to date. I do feel quite sorry to score more than Jerusalem as Jerusalem is in another league and the soundscape is otherworldly :o

Whoops I kind of forgot about this thread with the BJSC results going on but I got a grand total of zero additional points since I last checked so oof. x

 

Congrats to Rollo on the win, again it's a song I don't particularly remember (aside from it being very long of course x) so I will endeavour to give it another listen some time soon to remind me of it, I know I did vote for it though so I do approve of it winning! Both of tonight's song contest results having first time winners :cheer:

 

19th is an unspectacular result but it's a little better than I was expecting, was pleasantly surprised at how many 10+ point scores it got so thanks to those of y'all who voted for it. Both this and KOAN Sound (which I sent to Club Bizarre) were songs that I had as BJSC potentials a few months back (at the same time as Japanese Television and Hildegard) - those seem to have been the right choices to send to BJSC as they both at least qualified which I think KOAN Sound certainly wouldn't have and caro♡ may not have either judging by their results in the genre forum contests, nonetheless am glad to have found enough song contest slots to send all of them!

 

I'm up for a Nuggets some time in the near future now, already have a potential entry for one. x
