Following 2018's (criminally underrated in my view) 'Simulation Theory', Muse seem to be back in 2022 - with an IOW Festival headline slot in June, and Matt sharing a preview of new music the other day. From the sounds of it, it should certainly please those who have missed the heavy guitars in their music!

Wonder if radio 1 will support them, there was a lukewarm response to their last era after supportin this since their 2000 debut!
Interesting! I’m definitely here for this type of return. The further away from their last album they go, the better.

I'm a big Muse fan up to 'Absolution' but they've been hit and miss since then. Didn't even process they had an album out in 2018 - I quite liked 'Drones' before that despite it being nothing revolutionary.
Love Muse but yes would like it to be more like their earlier output, fingers crossed !

There’s a 1-min preview in the first post, see what you think!

Sounds pretty decent from the preview compared to their last few albums. Thinking the idea of them getting R1 supported as mooted above is fanciful, could well get R2 support though.

There is not a *chance* Radio 2 will support something that heavy! I can see them onboard for the second single if it’s more like their past stuff though.
It’s definitely just more of what they used to do but I like it on first listen

Like everything almost they've done in the last 15 years, it's perfectly ok and I want to like it but I know it won't be long before I stop listening to it and forget how it goes. They just don't have that spark that they had in the early days.

Nice to have them back though I guess

Well this... Has wordy verses...

Less is more, Matt. Less is more.

I *think* I liked the chorus, but have completely forgotten how it goes already. 😔

I do like it but in agreement that it's not one that'll be lodged in your head again and again. Some cool musical elements in there though and the rocky edge/ guitars is another plus I suppose but not exactly memorable on the whole.

Edited by Roba.

Excellent guitars! I'm here for it, even if the verses might take a little while to grow on me. I dipped out of them for a while during the Simulation Theory era but I'd happily get back on their train again.
Not that it means much now but is this the first Muse song to go #1 on iTunes?
