Another year has gone by, and we wanted to have the opportunity to get as much feedback as possible about how you've found the Sports Forum this year. Using Pete's template questionnaire to fill in, but feel free to mention anything else if you feel restricted by these questions. It doesn't matter if you're a Sports Forum regular or whether you've visited the Forum once all year, we want all perspectives and it's all for the sake of helping us grow as a forum!

How often have you visited the Sports Forum this year?

Why have you visited the Sports Forum this year?

What has been your favourite moment in the Sports Forum this year?

What else have we done in the Forum this year that you have enjoyed?

Is there anything we could do next year that would make you more likely to visit/post in the Sports Forum?

Thanks for your time, :)

I'll leave some feedback here of my own - it's been fab to get people into the Forum during the Euros and Olympics who aren't usually around and start discussions, I've enjoyed getting back into the general discussions on the forum as well ^_^ If there are any events people want to see by the way just let us know, at the moment I'm prioritising discussion threads but if there's considerable interest for something I'm sure we could give it a go.

Between the both of you I feel like this is one very well run forum on BuzzJack and all I can say is please continue to maintain this high standard that we have all come to enjoy! ^_^

I often think of football related thread ideas but hesitate to make them because I don’t want to flood the forum with only football where there are so many other sporting events in the calendar that people enjoy and want to discuss. It’s less likely I will get involved in non-football threads in this forum just due to my own interests being rather limited, but that shouldn’t stop others from getting involved too. In fact, I think more diversity and inclusion around world sports can only be a good thing for those who have a keen interest in the fields.

I’m not sure what other ideas for interaction in this forum there could be in terms of games, quizzes or contests of varying description, but maybe someone will come up with some ideas in the future. How about a FIFA night perhaps?

I think you're both doing a great job, the forum is really active and I feel it's in a good place. With 2022 being a World Cup year, I always feel having seperate threads for the England games always works well. It might be good to do this with the Womens Euros in the summer too, as Im sure there will be a lot of interest and it's a home tournament too.

I always look for the Premier League thread as I like the discussion (and sometimes banter). Guess it would be great if more people gave feedback on that thread and if people feel umcofortable with it etc. as I do know the Liverpool/Man Utd chat can dominate the thread.

I also agree that both of you have been doing a great job of moderating the sports forum and I also think this year has been another really good year for the forum. My personal highlight was all of the discussion that happened during Euro 2020, that was the most active I've ever seen the sports forum and it was fun to take part in discussions and read other peoples discussions as well. The annual football related threads have been enjoyable to take part in and other non-football threads such as Formula One and the Olympics were also enjoyable.

2022 should be another great year with the annual Formula One, football and combat sporting events taking place. There's the FIFA World Cup at the end of the year to look forward to and there will be many events in athletics taken place across the year.

Thanks everyone for the feedback so far! Very useful to hear from you.

@Wardy - I'd say if you've got threads you'd like to create, feel free to create them! I think it's only natural that the forum is very football-heavy since it's the sport most people are into, I don't think activity needs to be sacrificed to increase diversity (I'll always be here to comment on the cycling/athletics/winter sports and Mack with darts/horse racing to mix it up)

Does anyone have any particular feedback on this? I've never had any issues with the thread myself, but it's always useful to hear what others think!

I have had an idea that some managers change jobs during the off season and I am never sure whether to put it in the current thread (2021/2022) or to create a new thread for any changes during the summer break. Any ideas on that?

Also, when a new thread for each season is started perhaps a list of managers attached to each club as well as the odds and so forth?

That is a fantastic idea, :)

I'll keep an eye on the Liverpool/Man United chat, if anyone was uncomfortable please don't hesitate to say.

@Wardy, echo what Pete said go for it, Football will have the most activity on here.

It's been another very good year for the sports forum With the Winter Olympics, Women's Euros and, to finish the year, the World Cup, 2022 should also be good.

It would be great to see a decent level of activity for the women's Euros in the summer. There are three games at the Amex and I've got tickets for all of them.

This is probably one of my favourite parts of the forum to chat in as its full of likeminded people discussing the football. One of the best tunes of the year was the euros of course and seeing people who never come into the sport forum entering and chatting for a change was class, the likes of Jade/Bre etc etc.

Thanks again for the comments, keep them coming! We'll make sure to keep the Women's Euros on our radar - I can certainly imagine that gathering interest particularly as the World Cup will be later in the year.

I'm always excited for the new season of MotoGP and World SuperBike. So, maybe more updates at "Other Motorsport Series Thread" would be great.

One question. Where should we put badminton?

I'm sure it's pretty clear that I only really contribute to the F1 threads as open wheel motor racing is my biggest sporting interest. Sadly, nobody really seems interested in Indycar even though audience figures are increasing in the UK.

The F1 threads are always well attended and everyone is respectful of each other, which is not something that a lot of F1 sites are finding right now, with many descending in to increasingly polarised opinions and name calling. Something I think has been driven by new fans pulled in by the somewhat over-dramatised Drive To Survive series, who predominantly (and maybe I'm being unfair to some) seem to lack the understanding and nuances of the sport. Whereas major sites like RaceFans have seen a huge drop in the quality of their comments section, thankfully, that hasn't really happened on this site and I hope it continues to remain so.

I'm also still looking forward to seeing the results of the 2021 drivers rate.

Keep up the good work

If you want to create a '2022 Badminton Thread' thread (or a '2022 Racket Sports Thread' if there are any others you'd like to discuss), you'd be very welcome to do so! Or one of us can create it if you'd like.

Good idea, and please create one. I think "2022 Racket Sports Thread" is much better. :)
