Kelly Clarkson - Mr Know It All

Donovan - Hurdy Gurdy Man

Bryan Ferry - Let's Stick Together

Billy Joel - Tell Her About It

Michael Jackson - Stranger In Moscow

Jilted John - Jilted John

Jennifer Lopez featuring Ja Rule and Caddillac Tah - Ain't It Funny (Murder Remix)

Mantronix featuring Wondress - Got To Have Your Love

REM - E-Bow The Letter

I'm glad someone voted for this. I think it's the best novelty song to reach the top 5. Donovan appeared yesterday and he's back again with Hurdy Gurdy Man. Let's Stick Together was Bryan Ferry's highest charting solo single.

5000 Volts - I'm On Fire

Fragma - You Are Alive

Jonas Brothers - Sucker

Mike Oldfield - In Dulci Jubilo / On Horseback

The Shamen - Boss Drum

U2 - All I Want Is You

A few Christmas songs received votes and this is the next one, an arrangement of a German traditional carol. Mike Oldfield has another song to come as do the Shamen.

Flo Rida featuring Sia - Wild Ones

Richard Harris - MacArthur Park

Sadly, only one person apart from me voted for this seven minute melodrama released in 1968 when most singles were about three minutes long. Donna Summer's disco version was an American number 1 ten years later.

Iggy Azalea featuring Rita Ora - Black Widow

James Blunt - 1973

Goldfrapp - Ooh La La

Radiohead - There There

Taylor Swift featuring Kendrick Lamar - Bad Blood

Kim Wilde - Chequered Love

From 2003, this was the last of five top 5 singles for Radiohead. Chequered Love was Kim Wilde's follow-up to Kids In America and would be her last top 10 hit until 1986. James Blunt makes his second and final appearance with 1973. Taylor Swift has two songs left.

Shocked I was the only person who voted for There There. I'm sure lots of folk will have voted for No Surprises. Guess that reflects how quickly Radiohead went from being a radio-friendly group in the general consciousness to being a fanbase group.
You’re welcome King Rollo - love MacArthur Park! Only gave it 8 points though sorry!

If I didn't vote for There There then it must have been one of the very last ones I cut - I love it, although I'd count myself firmly among the fanbase element you refer to

Shirley Bassey - Something

Chicago - Hard To Say I'm Sorry

The Communards - Never Can Say Goodbye

Fun Boy Three and Bananarama - It Ain't What You Do It's The Way That You Do It

From 1982, this was Chicago's first top 40 hit since their 1976 number 1, If You Leave Me Now. Elsewhere, it's cover versions all the way. From the same year is Fun Boy Three and Bananarama's cover of a jazz song from 1939. The Communards cover a Jackson Five song from 1971 while Shirley Bassey does her version of the Beatles' song from 1969 which is still to come.

Blue Pearl - Naked In The Rain

Depeche Mode - People Are People

Dollar - Mirror Mirror (Mon Amour)

Ariana Grande featuring Nicki Minaj – Side to Side

Grace featuring G-Eazy – You Don't Own Me

Donna Summer - Love To Love You Baby

Justin Timberlake - What Goes Around...Comes Around

The highest chart position for Depeche Mode is number 4 which they have managed three times with this song from 1984 being the first. Mirror Mirror is the second of the four poptastic singles that Trevor Horn wrote and produced for Dollar. All four of Ariana Grande's number 4s received votes and Side To Side is the third to drop out.

Alex Gaudino featuring Crystal Waters – Destination Calabria

The Jackson Five - I'll Be There

The Motors - Airport

McFly - Lies

Airport was one of only two top 40 hits for the London band. It contains possibly the second best piano solo in a number 4 single. The one I consider to be the best is coming tomorrow. What could it be? After gaining a reprieve, I'll Be There by the Jackson Five finds its confirmed points total. It was their fourth top 10 single in 1970 with all four reaching number 1 in the US.

I prefer The Motors' other Top 40 hit Forget About You (which bears a resemblance to the theme from Grandstand).

One of the first Ariana songs I properly enjoyed after not really rating her beforehand.

Grace is another to fall from my votes here. A brilliant cover and a nice surprise hit in a way back then too.

Hazell Dean - Whatever I Do (Wherever I Go)

Philip George and Anton Powers – Alone No More

JX - There's Nothing I Won't Do

Kylie Minogue and Keith Washington – If You Were With Me Now

Public Enemy – Harder Than You Think

Pet Shop Boys - So Hard

York - O.T.B. (On The Beach)

All three of the Pet Shop Boys' number 4s have received votes and this is the first to appear. York's On The Beach with its Chris Rea guitar sample is here along with Public Enemy's only top 10 single. Hazell Dean has a second song to come.

The only one to vote for 'Wild Ones' with Flo Rida featuring Sia, I was.

I very nearly voted for this. Came on and off my list multiple times !

'Harder Than You Think' is up there with the best songs to drop out so far as well, albeit partly just because it evokes nostalgia for London 2012.
I may have been guilty of cutting On The Beach at the last minute - definitely got very close to my top 30
Harder Than You Think deserved better. I really should nominate it in RotD this year as it's its last chance (even though it originally came out in 2007).
