Shaggy having a chart hit would be one to the least surprising things to happen, just like a hit single by Sean Paul.

Are you sure you guys remembering Shaggy's discography well? He's only had 1 feature top 40 hit ever and that was like in 96.. definitely not in the same league as Sean Paul...

and he got that #36 hit in 2014 but that was his first top 40 since 2002... so that was pretty surprising and would be the same now...

he's had 1 low top 40 in the last 18 years

He is exactly kind of artist that could be just featured on a song because of a sample or could just hop on a song that takes over internationally like business as usual - like Snow with Con Calma.

Didn't 'Train Wreck' by James Arthur get reset when it took off on TikTok? That was an album track from a previous album so I don't see why they should turn down 'Lost' should the label request it.

I was certain he could get a reset...they reset tiktok songs > 3 year old all the time, they just reset this Jaymes Young - Infinity song which is from 2017

 

But I guess all these songs had never charted before, while Frank Ocean's Lost charted... although not top 40, so not sure anymore

BANNERS’ Someone to You was given a reset when it first took off due to TikTok (having never charted previously)

It then went to ACR but was granted another reset I believe

cos the tiktok hits that had already been hits didn't get reset like Tom Odell - Another Love or Sam Smith - Like I Do

 

but those were top 10 hits while Lost didn't make the top 40, so not sure whats gonna happen

It would be annoying if "Lost" didn't get a reset. I'm sure it will if the label requests it.

 

Really surprised at how well and how quickly "Lost" has climbed Spotify. Could it go to #1 in the coming days?! It's only ~80k streams from the top spot.

Nearest equivalent I can recall is Sweater Weather which reached #49 in 2014 and wasn't given a reset when it returned last year, but I guess the label didn't ask for one.
