YAY @ Charli/Rina getting a good NMF spot. I know it doesn't guarantee anything anymore, as seen by Y&Y at Track 1 not even being top 200 last week, but praying it can set it off to a semi decent start.

 

I want this to be a hit so bad *cries*

I've noticed the Charli/Rina song been used on a fair few TikToks when i've been on it this week so the pre-release promotion on there might work out well for them. I know Lil Nas X and PinkPanthress (and probably others) used this strategy and ended up with Top 40 debuts last year, I wonder if it might become a lot more common to attempt to flood TikTok with samples of unreleased tracks. Helping them become well known by a wide enough audience leading to more instant streaming success.

Not heard this Yung Lean song but it can hardly be any worse than a certain other song referencing that year...

We Don’t Talk About Bruno was the most-streamed song on Spotify for a second week in a row. It was streamed 2,445,924 times during the tracking week of 21/01-27/01. It had a 360,797 stream increase from the 14/01-20/01 tracking week.

Omg hahaha at Yung Lean actually charting. I saw a post on Reddit yesterday about that becoming a TikTok trend so it's not totally out of nowhere but still didn't expect it to actually cross over to enough streams to make a dent here. I can't see it taking off enough to make the top 100 but that would be iconic if it did. I see it's at #92 on US Spotify too :cheeseblock:

 

(95% of BuzzJack need not bother listening, Yung Lean is an acquired taste to put it lightly. 'Ginseng Strip 2002' is a classic though. Although I would have preferred to see 'Kyoto' getting the TikTok treatment if not one of his more recent songs)

 

Also wow I guess Rina Sawayama actually is coming to get a charting song! I hope this song is at least a bit better than 'LUCID'. x

I kinda think it's gonna be huge as it's one of the most popular tiktok challenges now
