That Mercedes really has looked like an AWFUL car today, it really has no business finishing on the podium.

No F1 fan should ever dislike a Ferrari victory, and a 1-2 is always special.

Harsh luck for Red Bull but they'll be back. Verstappen was clearly struggling for some time and had earned a decent result.

We could be looking at decent three way fight for the driver's title

That was an enjoyable race to start the season! Ferrari look like they mean business this season, I thought George Russell did well to get 4th place as well. During the race one of the commentators said that since 2017 the person who won the first race of the season always went on to be the runner up in the Drivers Championship so we'll see if Charles Leclerc will end this streak.

And the race in a sentence:

Best driver: Leclerc (flawless)

Worst driver: Hulkenberg (qualified 17th and still went backwards)

Best team: Ferrari

Worst team: McLaren

Best overtake: Leclerc's first on Verstappen

Worst overtake: Ocon on Schumacher

Best moment: That duel

Worst moment: Both Red Bull's breaking down

Gutted for Max but great to see Leclerc winning again.

The Mercedes did luck into 3rd/4th but they were the obvious 3rd best team. Looooved seeing Magnussen fighting with them. Mad to think he did not have a drive a couple of weeks ago.

Bottas proving to me that he is a great driver in a middle of the road car.

I don’t agree with Hulkenberg as the worst driver - he has pace at the start so I assumed something was wrong with the car and that’s why he dropped off. Aston Martin and McLaren look so poor though :(

wow at the Ferraris, amazing race, Leclerq totally deserved it, and glad Sanz got #2 in the end

and it's not only Ferrari, the Ferrari-2 cars (Haas and Alfa Romeo) did well too,

thats why Magnussen or Bottas did well, cos they're on a Ferrari engine

it's not cos suddenly Bottas learnt to drive

Red Bull , not the bestest start, surprised Perez did such rookie mistake

the Mercedes engine struggling is interesting to see, guess McLaren and Aston Martin have also Merc engines?

Red Bull , not the bestest start, surprised Perez did such rookie mistake

What mistake?

If you're referring to his spin, that was because his engine seized and locked the rear. Otherwise I didn't see anything wrong in his race.

Congratulations to Leclerc for the win and Ferrari for the 1-2 finish!

Excellent race to start the season with some great Max vs Charles duels harking back to the 2019 season. Very pleased for Leclerc finally getting that third victory and this time in presumably with a legal engine) and definitely all the cars seemed to be able to follow slightly easier.

So the Ferrari powered cars have all progressed and all the Merc powered cars have gone backwards! Always interesting the first race of new regs to see a massively shuffled pecking order.

I did LOL at both Red Bull's falling just before the end  we'll take a completely unexpected Hamilton podium although 30s off the pace at the half way stage was very eye-catching indeed.

K-Mag though, what a don.

Best driver: Leclerc (no mistakes, had all the answers to Max's attacks)

Worst driver: Latifi (zero pace and miles behind Albon)

Best team: Ferrari (obviously)

Worst team: Red Bull (well neither made the flag did they)

Best overtake: Leclerc's first switchback on Max

Worst overtake: Max's third attempt at turn 1 where he locked up

Best moment: Perez car failure on last lap (I screamed, sorry Checo)

Worst moment: Gasly retiring (basically I had a £1 bet at 750-1 of loads of things happening, everything did apart from I needed Danny Ric to reitre first)

And the race in a sentence: Ferrari rise to the summit in a new era
