A great top 3, they're all fab! :D

 

The last two times I've entered a song with confidence it'll do really well (Desire Marea, Piri) it's ended up decidedly midtable, and it's now happened three in a row with HVOB even though I was too late to enter it. I think Bruise is their best song so a shame to see it that low down.

Oh gosh 9 points shy of top 10 is a bit of a bummer but 13th (if I counted correctly from leader board) is a unique position for us yay! And really happy with that 18 from Utopia and 12 from Dandy at the end - thank you both :wub:

Poor Chez :heart:, was really hoping you could end the runner up curse this contest with that epic entry!

 

I had an inkling Jockstrap would gather big points from the alt / niche bloc so no surprise there and totally deserved. Scherzland being a PJSC winner was pretty much a guaranteed top 10.

 

I'm totally shocked how low Sega Bodega and HVOB are, both should be about 20 places higher. How did that happen?

Nah seriously, I am actually so pleased with finishing that high, I was skeptical as you can never quite believe hype no matter how many people tell you so, but I am so happy to have been proved wrong and appeal to such a wide range of people. As I've said before, this wasn't something I sent with a smash in mind, I was just genuinely really surprised by the song and wanted to share it as it was so different from the other songs I knew by that artist. I'm so pleased a lot of you clearly made a great discovery out of it, thanks so much for all the points :wub: And tbh if I wanted to win, it would be with my 100th entry (tba x)

 

I certainly have no grounds to complain given my 18 just won, what a great winner for Aeroche to come back with after a year off! :heart: Very pleased to see Quintessa do so well too and Trifoski in the top 10 is quite a shock but I'm not complaining as it was wonderfully weird! Rolloland really shouldn't have been that low though, that was almost my top pointer :(

Terra Avium's bridesmaid curse strikes once again :cheeseblock: (as well as this being the second runner-up finish for Highasakite oops!), hope you'll at least get an AQ out of it I suppose!

 

I'm pretty pleased with the overall results here, the top 10 not quite being as overrun with uninspired entries / artist choices as I feared it might have been and aamourocean is a very inspired winner - Let's Eat Grandma would have been a great winner too as it was of course my 18, and I would have loved to see either Terra Avium or D'yermak'er getting a first win (despite not being a massive fan of the Terra entry), but a large part of me is very glad to see Aeroche coming out on top out of that top 3 purely for it being the most inspired of the three by some distance (that and it being up there with my fave songs of the month as well). Also brilliant to see Trifoski making the top 10 - this song reminded me more than a little of Amnesia Scanner who also deserved to do this well but hey better late than never! - as well as FARC who for once I'm kind of sad to see not really being a winner contender in the end as this was their best entry for years for me but still a pretty good result anyway.

 

I didn't have Quintessa on my radar as one who'd do that well, didn't make my votes in the end but it did grow on me a fair amount throughout the contest to end up as a commiseration - also gave a commiseration to Beaverdonia but *.* for that giving them a good top 10 result for their anniversary (and I have had the song stuck in my head a bit today actually so maybe it deserved a little better in my votes oops). The other few in the top 10 weren't really for me but I hope some of these results can calm the hysteria about the pop bloc being dead or whatever xx (admittedly the winner isn't very pop lmao but beyond that ~)

 

Happy with Danæviia and Kathaldazia both being top 15 and very close to the top 10, and some very good stuff in the lower half of the top 20 - great to see Pestolia did at least recover from being near the bottom earlier on in the reveal although still think this song deserved a lot better than 20th, ah well, an improvement from their first entry! And glad to see East Rukahavian getting a decent result, that was a real surprise highlight for me. FSR Rontvia was the biggest grower of the contest for me, I kind of wish I'd given more time to the semi 1 songs and/or remembered to attend the final listenthrough as I definitely think it could have got a few more points from me if I'd got more familiar with it but nevermind, was glad to be able to slot it into my votes at least.

 

Some slightly disappointing results for Land of DW (I didn't think HVOB would pull off the triple song contest win but only 22nd really? this was better than the one that won Club Bizarre!), Sovarasma (obviously a niche one but I thought the niche would carry it further, perhaps was just blinded by my own love for it) and N DNTN (not sure what went wrong with that one, I thought it'd be another pretty big hit oops - maybe you should have sent 'Only Seeing God When I Come' instead xx). Also would have liked to see Tartford a little higher but it was never going to be a big hit so at least hitting triple figures is not bad especially after it got several DNQ predictions.

 

I had a feeling Lookylion going from first to last was a possibility unfortunately, thought it was a decent song but was hard to see where it'd get many points from. Don't worry WoW, you're not the first to do that - for example, I also came last immediately following my first win :lol: (and by quite a big margin as well oops). It's happened a few other times as well. At least it means you used your auto-qualifier wisely!

 

Will gladly take 28th for myself as I really feared I threaded the needle a little too much this time and risked crashing out in last or near last due to losing too many of my usual voters and not picking up enough different voters - didn't quite pull off the mainstream sounding pivot as well as I did with Godford but still pretty pleased to have received points from a good handful of countries outside the usual suspects so will consider this another moderately successful experiment even if getting no medal positions and ending in a pretty anonymous lower midtable position! (My third 28th place finish so no unique position, 30th remains elusive). I don't yet have a song in mind for next month but I think I might try and look for something that's a little more in my usual wheelhouse, much as I have enjoyed my diversions into poppier entries the last few months I am starting to get withdrawals from Terra Avium points :kink: (and this entry joining the short list to be snubbed by Jadakissnia too oops!!)

Congrat Aeroche, was a deserving winner I thought and fab to see Let's Eat Grandma also top 3. Yay for Rontvia grabbing a top 20 finish as well as Mack. I probably won't bother with CL as it seems to be many recycles lately but that was a great track by them and I'm glad it did pretty well for them as well.

I'm so happy that raw kicks and mid-intro are acceptable here. :wub: (I believe this isn't the first happy hardcore song that wins the contest, but I guess this is the first time for a song with raw kicks, isn't it?) Eastovka would definitely like to send more raw hardstyle tracks in the future!
