True Faith is classic electropop with impeccable production. Not surprised at With Or Without You getting on average 10.5 points more per voter than Where The Streets... but I am surprised that's taken it as high as 3rd place - it's Bono's best song and vocals and it deserves nothing less.

 

Radiohead for the win!

That Keane track is the most underwhelming one in the top 10 for me, really hoping it doesn’t win :/

I still can't get over that top 4, it's so un-poppy for Buzzjack! 'True Faith' would have been my favourite to win, but between the final two I'd say Keane will probably take it.

While this has been an awesome top 10, it would be seriously let down if the very MOR Keane song were to come out as the overall winner!

'True Faith' was similar to 'A Little Respect' for me, it did sound a little familiar when I listened to it but I don't think it's a song I have heard that many times so am definitely happy to be more familiar with it now as it is excellent.

 

'With Or Without You' is quite good but it's definitely the weakest of this top 4 by a long way so happy it's not in the top 2. Would be happy with either of the remaining songs winning but rooting for Keane (I think some of their later releases are pretty MOR but I love all of the singles from that album).

Three of the top 4 in my top 10 (Keane is not in my top 10 but still appreciate it to be a great track).

 

Was hoping U2 would snatch the top spot - such a classic; a beautiful track.

 

Here’s to Radio Head winning out of the last two tracks… a good reminder of my teenager angst years …

 

 

Much as I love my camp pop it gets plenty of chances to shine on Buzzjack so I’ve really enjoyed this Top 10.

 

I gave Keane a few more points but I think I’d actually prefer Radiohead to win because it feels like more of a musical moment. Plus they went to my school.

Blue Monday and With or Without You are both classics of the 80s,

when reading the top 4 I thought those two would fight for the crown so surprised they're out

 

amazed Keane made the top 2, hope they don't win, its a decent song but not a classic

their only classic is Somewhere only we know, not this one

 

but again shocked we got an alt/indie/rock top 4, being Buzzjack was expecting a Girls Aloud/Karty Perry domination lol

Everybody's Changing only got to number 122 in 2003 on a different record label. The song was re-recorded for the Hopes And Fears album in 2004 and was the follow-up single to Somewhere Only We Know. It was a new entry at number 4 before dropping down to 16 in its second week on the chart. Only two voters gave the song a score of less than 14.

And so No Surprises finishes 22 points ahead of Everybody's Changing to claim the title of Buzzjack's favourite number 4 single. It was the third single released from the OK Computer album and spent one week at number 4 in January 1998 before dropping down to 22. Thom Yorke had to film the video several times before he was able to hold his breath for the required time while his head was submerged in water.

 

 

 

I didn't know 'No Surprises' very well before this rate (I was only a few months old when it came out and the late 30s and early 40s Now albums are a bit of a blind spot) but it sounded great when I was re-listening to everything prior to voting in the final. I really must give more Radiohead material a go as I like what I know of them and Thom Yorke's 'Suspiria' project (and a large part of my music taste is pretty dark anyway lol, it's surprising that I haven't already listened to their albums). A very unexpected winner I must say :o

 

I was rooting for New Order once Prince had dropped out but 4th is still pretty good for that anyway.

Brilliant for Radiohead, I wouldn't have predicted that at the start of the final, but it's a standout on one of the albums of the decade so it's well deserved!

Can't believe this has won, but absolutely delighted! It's like when Welcome To The Black Parade won the head-to-head from the last 15 years!

 

Great song from a genius album. Perhaps Karma Police stands a chance too if this series ever gets down to the best number...8s?

The Bends is a wonderful album as well, just not on the same level as OK Computer.

 

My standout tracks are Subterranean Homesick Alien and Let Down but basically the whole album is 10/10. Even the single b-sides are amazing - the zero 7 remix of Climbing Up The Walls, Meeting In The Aisle and Lull are my picks. Of course, all 3 singles are epic.

What a fantastic winner/top 4 that is, I didn't think we'd go quite so alternative but I'm very pleased to see. No Surprises is one of my favourite Radiohead songs with a brilliant video, it gives me the chills every time I hear it.

 

Not here for this shade towards Everybody's Changing, it's the best song Coldplay never recorded x I prefer it to Somewhere Only We Know as well, it isn't as overplayed.

 

With or Without You is obviously a real U2 highlight, I wasn't overly familiar with True Faith until quite recently, glad I changed that as it's a great song. The only one in the top 10 I'm not that familiar with is Erasure, maybe I should give that another listen!

I agree, I listened to it as part of Albums Bucket list challenge a few years back and it was one of the highlights, I'd never explored Radiohead that much before and that really brought me into them, I think you'd love it Jade!
