The poll in the Lounge about whether there are more doors or wheels in the world got me thinking about which one has appeared in more song titles. Restricting to Top 40 hits from 1980 onwards, there are slightly more of the latter - but more importantly, which ones are your favourites?

I decided it would be unfair to include the Dunblane version of Knockin' On Heaven's Door. I voted for The Editors then Depeche Mode and Heaven 17.

There are a few gooduns among the doors list - Editors, Guns N' Roses, Mystery Jets, Silk Sonic, The White Stripes

Not familiar with many of the wheel songs, voted for Foo Fighters and Mad Donna (lol)

Really not keen on any of the 'Wheel' ones so went for Primal Scream. But OMG at Editors being in the lead of this poll (at least for now) for 'Door' - it's absolutely amazing like virtually all of their singles were. Love it if they could get a chart hit again.
I went for The White Stripes and Kingmaker. Kingmaker's single is an EP called 'Idiots At The Wheel' but there is no song on the single by that name. The hit song on the EP was 'Really Scrape The Sky'

Still my favorite "wheel" song, despite being uncharted:

the Wheels much much better than the Doors

best by miles is Depeche Mode-Behind the Wheel

followed by the Mission-Butterfly on a Wheel

the original cover by Smokie of Living Next door To Alice is the best, not the godawful novelty destroyer.

Siouxsie's version of Wheels On Fire is decent, but the original Julie Driscoll & co is the dogs bollocks.

So I'll vote for those originals

Agreed on both counts

I voted for Editors, Shaky, Depeche Mode, Heaven 17, Human League and John Lennon.

A couple of album tracks to add to this:

Interesting spread of votes there! I voted for a few but highly recommend The Mission song for those who haven’t heard it!

Editors, GNR and Mystery Jets. Not familiar with nearly all those songs including Wheels in the title but the Foo Fighters one is solid enough.

Oh and I also like The Smokies 70's original of 'Living Next Door To Alice' but not heard that redo collab one.
