Who knew rock would be so popular? Well we certainly love this one enough to be our 2nd favourite No 2 of 1989.

Prince just misses out on the top 20 then but this one does better than “1999” which surprised me a little!

:D think I'm giving up on this rate/rates in general :D

Yes, please do it! :P

No at Alice Cooper's masterpiece missing out the top 20. Poison should be number 1 on Halloween playlists haha. :D

Poison is iconic, not quite as good as his 70s work, but stood out for miles in that SAW and bland pop infested year that was 1989

Great top 20, really pleased to still have only lost one of my really big hitters -cue all of them going out in 11-20-

Didn't anticipate how well 'Little Red Corvette' would do on here! I thought '1999' would be Prince's best performing. I think I'm the only one who voted for all three of his songs here

Happy that my top 4 are all still to come

Top of the league *.* but that consistency of songs per year remaining is most pleasing.

I had been expecting both those songs to drop out for a while. Poison is pure guilty pleasure, rock repurposed via the spirit of Spinal Tap and returned even better. Little Red Corvette (all the best songs mention Corvettes of a certain colour) got 8 of the same voters as 1999 with just one more to 1999's two, but it seems many of us prefer it - maybe it's all those car metaphors, or maybe it's just a fine tune.

Nice that every year’s represented in the Top 20. Nothing that I don’t like in there.

Prince still hasn’t quite clicked with me generally, but I’d have rated Little Red Corvette above 1999 too. Poison wasn’t far off my votes.

Well that’s the first two of my top 5 out :D, both absolute gems in completely different ways of course.
I think 'Little Red Corvette' is my favourite of the Prince songs here so correct result there although yes a little surprised it beat '1999'!
'Poison' is classic rock at its finest  I prefer it to his 70's stuff. 'Hey Stoopid' is another good one for singing to in the car from the same album :kink:

Need You Tonight is pure Prince. The funky riff and the spindly guitar.

A short but illustrious career for Yazoo saw this become their biggest hit. It’s our 3rd Favourite No 2 of 1982 but it gets the full 30pts from Leonardo.

This Prince written track was gifted to the girls because he was attracted to lead singer Suzanna Hoffs, it’s our 2nd favourite No 2 of 1986.

I loved Alice having a comeback and i went to see his ear splitting tour. Enjoyed Poison but its no Schools Out! Its not even an Elected or No More Mr Nice Guy.

Little Red Corvette has exceeded expectations. Its very good Prince but its not major classic Prince. Manic Monday deservedly higher. 1999 should be higher than Corvette so i guess everyones jusdt fed up of heasring it.

Only You is fab.

We slowly climbing the list as we head top 10. Is Bonnie Tyler never gonna go out! Well flattered to be this high. Give Its A Heartache anyday!

Manic Monday is lovely but I ran out of votes. Gained a newfound affection for it when it was my birthday Heardle last month!

Only You I still find very moving. There’s a beautiful simplicity about it.
