May 4, 20223 yr 12 TRIFOSKI 10 QUALIFIED 8 QUALIFIED 7 QUALIFIED 6 QUALIFIED 5 QUALIFIED 4 SÉYETANA 3 QUALIFIED 2 QUALIFIED 1 THELONIA 11th Utopia 15th Aelandor 18th Eastovka 19th Rolloland 21st Kingdom of Horanius I wasn't expecting Trifoski to qualify but not the tease again of it only just missing out just like GHOSTEMANE did. Industrial hip-hop will make the final one of these days xx This semi basically having the inverse result to semi 1 then, with my 1st place being the only one of my top 5 to go out this time. Could be worse. Thanks for hosting John and I am going to get to work on updating the Q streak list now :jump:
May 4, 20223 yr Thanks for the quick presentation John! I will need to take a chill pill at these robberies lmao
May 4, 20223 yr Well phew, you had me a bit worried there, but hope is the last thing to die after all x Thanks all *. Only lost Aelandor which was my 3 pointer, a lovely song that deserved much better. Trifoski were 11th for me though so I do hope they weren't only a point off!
May 4, 20223 yr Sad to see Utopia out in the first time I’ve pointed them in ages. So apologies for being your bad luck charm RFC
May 4, 20223 yr Yay Lali…thanks everyone…I was worried ya’ll weren’t going to follow her orders and have her DNQ!!! :whip:
May 4, 20223 yr Not me and Cornelia Jakobs about to win our respective song contests in the same week :kink:
May 4, 20223 yr Aw that's a shame. Sorry to lose Rolloland, Eastovka and Séyetana too but some great ones are through.
May 4, 20223 yr All those that didn't vote for my 3 minute song, don't complain the next time I enter a long song.
May 4, 20223 yr *send a (J)-dance-pop song* *get 100% of points from nations not known for liking dance or pop* Did I curse myself or something? That really sucks, it's far more energetic than most songs entered in those genres. at least zanmatony & sovarasma got through those can be my surrogate entries
May 5, 20223 yr So putting together the backlog of Q streak updates took me forever (this is surprisingly much more confusing to do than catching up with months worth of YTD updates, which reminds me I do still need to get this year's YTD up, soon xx) but finally back up to date! If anyone wants to look back at the snapshots of where the Q streak list was at in each of the previous 7 contests I have edited them into posts in each of the semi results threads, putting links & highlights of all those in this post and then the actual current update in the next post x ~ BJSC 137 update Extending national records: Varakë Matching previous national records: Bøtanikkä (previously achieved in BJSCs 22-34) BJSC 138 update Exceeding national records matched in previous contest: Bøtanikkä Matching previous national records: Cumulonimbia (previously achieved in BJSCs 79-82 and 130-133), Terra Avium (previously achieved in BJSCs 82-86, 95-99 and 112-116), Sergeistan (yet to qualify to consecutive finals, previously qualified in BJSC 118) Cumulonimbia and Terra Avium both have longer runs of consecutive entries qualifying not all in consecutive contests (Cumulonimbia having 6 qualifiers in a row in BJSCs 75, 79-82 & 85, Terra Avium having 8 qualifiers in a row in BJSCs 112-116 & 118-120). BJSC 139 update Extending national records: Bøtanikkä Exceeding national records matched in previous contest: Cumulonimbia Matching previous national records: Kathaldazia (previously achieved in BJSCs 15-17, 68-70 and 129-131) Kathaldazia have a longer run of consecutive entries qualifying not all in consecutive contests (5 qualifiers in a row in BJSCs 75, 124 & 129-131). BJSC 140 update Extending national records: Bøtanikkä, Cumulonimbia Exceeding national records matched in previous contest: Kathaldazia Qualifying for the first time: Pestolia (with their debut entry) Matching previous national records: Pagasa (yet to qualify to consecutive finals, previously qualified in BJSCs 82, 128 and 130), Sovarasma (previously achieved in BJSCs 135-136), Summericia (previously achieved in BJSCs 117-121 and 129-133, also matched by a run of 5 qualifiers in non-consecutive contests (BJSCs 102-103 & 106-108)), Wholune (previously achieved in BJSCs 118-120 and 125-127) Buzzjack Mountain have 2 entries in a row qualifying for only the second time ever (the only previous occasion was also in consecutive contests, BJSCs 103-104). Cumulonimbia's current streak in consecutive contests now matches their previous longest streak in non-consecutive contests. BJSC 141 update Extending national records: Cumulonimbia, Kathaldazia, Pestolia Exceeding national records matched in previous contest: Sovarasma, Summericia, Wholune Qualifying for the first time: Eastovka (after 3 previous DNQs), Freedonia (with their debut entry) Matching previous national records: Quintessa (previously achieved in BJSCs 108-116) Kathaldazia's current streak in consecutive contests now matches their previous longest streak in non-consecutive contests. BJSC 142 update Extending national records: Cumulonimbia, Kathaldazia, Sovarasma, Summericia Exceeding national records matched in previous contest: Quintessa Matching previous national records: Lookylion (previously achieved in BJSCs 128-131) BJSC 143 update Extending national records: Cumulonimbia, Kathaldazia, Sovarasma, Summericia Exceeding national records matched in previous contest: Lookylion Matching previous national records: Zanmatony (previously achieved in BJSCs 97-99) Wholune extend their current run to a record 5 entries in a row qualifying but their record in consecutive contests remains at 4 due to them missing BJSC 142. Zanmatony have a longer run of consecutive entries qualifying not all in consecutive contests (5 qualifiers in a row in BJSCs 97-99 & 132-133).
May 5, 20223 yr Now hopefully the following numbers are actually correct :kink: (I will double check at some point xx) edit: have checked it now and these are definitely all correct, yay x Qualification streak update (underlined countries have matched or extended their longest ever Q streak): 24 Hendinia * ~ 21 Aeroche ~ 14 St. Burbia ~ 13 Cor Lupus 13 Persephonia ~ 10 Cumulonimbia ~ 9 Aquafina 9 Summericia ~ 8 Kathaldazia ~ 7 Altyr Muunilinst 7 Jupiterdonia 7 République d'Áskorza ~ 6 Lookylion 6 Sovarasma ~ 5 Kluminican Republic 5 Land of DW ~ 4 Danæviia 4 D'yermak'er 4 Scherzland * 4 Zanmatony ~ 3 Bøtanikkä 3 Dobago 3 Harmonica 3 Jadakissnia 3 New Lexico 3 Skall ~ 2 FARC 2 FSR Rontvia 2 Hushkanukia 2 Lotunia 2 POPHub 2 Taahino 2 Terra Avium ~ 1 (The Actual Republic of) Bellamia 1 Flynnonda 1 Greenfroze 1 Kylienips 1 Mosquetania 1 Pestolia 1 Quintessa 1 Tartford 1 Yehesi * DEAD 8 N DNTN 5 Rolloland 3 Republic of Adonia 2 Niceland 1 Fljótavík 1 Thelonia 1 Utopia 1 Wholune * more consecutive entries (29 for Hendinia, 6 for Scherzland, 5 for Yehesi) have qualified but these streaks were broken by breaks from the contest The top 2 on this list has remained unchanged since the last time I got around to doing an update back in BJSC 136 - Hendinia in the lead and Aeroche in 2nd place, both now having gone more than 2 years since they last DNQed (though both still at least another year away from matching their longest qualification streaks, Hendinia having previously got to 34 and Aeroche to 36). St. Burbia are in the bronze medal position which they have held alone for the last 3 updates since FARC's DNQ in BJSC 142. Cumulonimbia's previous record qualification streak before their current run was just 4, but they have now more than doubled that and extended their current run to an unbroken year of qualifiers. It's a similar story for Kathaldazia whose record was only appearing in 3 consecutive finals before their current run but they now reach an 8th in a row. Summericia, Lookylion and Sovarasma all also further extend their ongoing national record runs, while Zanmatony set a new best after matching their previous record of 3 last month (although they are still one away from matching their record in non-consecutive contests). 2 more nations join those in being on current record streaks - in the most exciting news of the month that includes Persephonia as I make it to a 13th final in a row (matching my previous record set in BJSCs 60-72), while Jupiterdonia also match their existing record of 7 (previously achieved in BJSCs 107-113 and again in BJSCs 122-128, time will tell if it's third time lucky for them to make it to 8, and hopefully I'll actually get an update posted to comment on that either way x). Finally, Scherzland's current run of 6 entries in a row qualifying in non-consecutive contests (BJSCs 134-135 and the last four contests) also matches their record in consecutive contests set in BJSCs 118-123.
May 5, 20223 yr good to see those returning, and quite surprising to see how many are still over 10. meanwhile, amateurishly, felt like doing the other side of the coin for no particular reason: 3 East Rukahavian 3 Eastovka 3 Séyetana 3 Suedeonia ~ 2 Aelandor 2 Aesthetica 2 Trifoski ~ 1 Kingdom of Horanius 1 N DNTN 1 Oslol 1 Rolloland 1 Republic of Adonia 1 Niceland 1 Thelonia 1 Utopia 1 Wholune (have not checked for breaks in the contest for the 2s and 1s but 3 of the current 'winners' qualified in 141 and Suedeonia qualified in 140 and took a break for 141 so they're all current) actually feels like a historical low to have the lowest current DNQ streak be 3 but 142 had very few NQs.
May 5, 20223 yr Once again I didn't expect to qualify (predictable, I know) so I'm very excited to make the final! 7/10 of my votes getting through is pretty good too, but I'm definitely gutted for the other three - especially Horanius and Eastovka, the rock entries deserved better :( Thanks John for your swift hosting and thanks Bre for the Q streak update!!
May 5, 20223 yr I posted some stats on DNQ streaks the last time I did an update of this - it's not that rare, at least post-BJSC 100, for the max DNQ streak to dip as low as 3 surprisingly. But it's never been down to 2 apart from when it was that low by default following contests that didn't have semi-finals. (That is assuming it has still never dropped to 2 since I made that post, which I don't think it has) I do want to say that having 6 countries with an active streak of 10+ is unusually high, and there are quite a lot of countries right now who are on their own longest streaks ever, I guess that may be aided by the rule change to having 20 qualifiers per semi regardless of participation levels. I know that my streak would have ended last month if not for that rule change for one!
May 5, 20223 yr Pleased to see some of the rock entries through. Eastovka would have been the only one that I didn't point but was one of my 4 commiserations. Happy to be through myself once again. Was fairly confident in it qualifying mind but you can never tell sometimes especially with a DNQ prediction against it. Everything voted for got through I think too yay!
