I’m pretty sure they won’t count as the top 2 tracks streams are excluded from the OCC’s calculations for album sales. I might be wrong though

No, streams don’t count towards pre-orders.

Streams aren’t counted for an album before its release. After its release the top-2 streamed songs will be down weighted to the average of the rest of the album.

 

So to stick on streaming an artist needs at least 3 streaming hits.

What do people think Tension’s opening sales will be? Think it’s guaranteed 50k from fanbase alone but if Padam Padam becomes a big hit then who knows how much bigger they could be?

^^ Will be interesting if the GP buy into the album off of the back of PP or if it will be a one shot and done for them with the single?

 

So many artists have big hits but it doesn’t translate into a boost for their albums, I’m hopeful it might bring a few lapsed fans back into the fold who will get the album though.

I hope it can beat Disco's first week sale, even if it's by a small amount!

Something I really appreciate when they give us so many variants! I would buy them all regardless but I’m always thankful when the sleeves are different.

For multi formats having different sleeves is one of things that makes it worth more worth while buying.

Really like the Spotify one and I have a feeling that one will be the first to sell out as it’s limited to 3.5k.

 

I think my favourite so far is the Amazon Pink one.

I’ll hold off buying anymore until release week….I had the option to buy two but I’ll stick with one for now.

Id say more options/formats will be released as we get nearer the release.

Yes, they won’t be done yet - cassettes are definitely coming and I wouldn’t be surprised if we got a picture disc.

I would have assumed both picture discs and cassettes are a given.

I was surprised in the Disco era that we didn't get a picture disc or the large 12" book format, which Golden got!

 

I suppose it can go either way re: a picture disc, but I'm not sure why they'd choose to hold back a format like that though, rather than have it pre-orderable from the beginning? I know that Disco had the 2LP versions announced later though.
