Impossible Princess for me. But it was very close.

So glad Lightyears happened, of course. But dare I say, perhaps a touch cheesy for me (in places). Kylie has raised her disco pop game to far greater heights since.

There is cheese in parts but for me that adds to the album, i think it was exactly what was needed from Kylie at that time, and it just worked so well and it was such an important time for Kylie to get things right and she did it with bells on. Thats not take away from IP which is also a brilliant album but in such a different way, both were important albums in making Kylie the icon she is today.

Light years but I do really like impossible princess too. The later is the better album out of her two Decon albums.

Light Years - gets my vote for this round. The comebacks of all comebacks, after a few years of experimenting with different styles & sounds, Kylie returned to her pop roots, with a modern twist for the turn of the century of course. This was what us Kylie fans had wanted from her for many years & she truly delivered with this stylish outstanding pop masterpiece. Many believed that Kylie was over due to the disappointing end to her DeCon era, but thankfully Kylie proved everybody wrong & "Light Years" was exactly what was needed to bring Kylie back to the top of the charts where she belonged. New century, new start the lead single "Spinning Around" was the perfect choice to lead this project & it worked like magic & the world fell in love with Kylie again.

There are so many amazing numbers on this album with a varied mix of sounds such as pop, disco, dance, europop, house, electronica & even latin. Highlights include "On A Night Like This", "Disco Down", "Your Disco Needs You", "Butterfly" & "Light Years".

As great as Impossible Princess was/is, im not sure if many fans wanted a follow up in of that type of music for Kylie, i think most of the fans, and i know i was, overjoyed when she announced she was returning to her pop roots, to develop as an artist the de con eras were great and hugely important for Kylie but not so much commercially and i think if she didn't return to her pop roots her music career would have pretty much ended. I do remember kylie saying when she done the intimate and live tour she knew from the crowd reaction that her more pop sounding singles got the best reactions which also prompted her to return to her roots.
Impossible Princess again for me! Both are great albums - Light Years has higher highs and I can definitely see how important it was for everything that's come since, but it has a few weak tracks for me whereas IP only has one or two at a stretch.
