This week is Total Ru-Quest Live, where the queens record Y2K girl group songs

Quite enjoyed this one although the Dolly runway was a bit random! Did not expect The Vivienne to have such a strong showing in this season either tbh!

I'm torn because Shea and Monet had the best verses so probably should have been the top 2, but the other group were so much better as a unit and all 4 did well so I get why Yvie and Viv were in the top instead as they were both brilliant. With MSTR it felt like they all just wrote their verses separately without even knowing they were doing a group challenge and then were doing their own thing on stage on the same time :lol: But since it was judged individually and not as a group, I think I would have put Shea and Monet in the top, although Shea's runway was rough.

 

I LOVED this runway naturally as of course I adore Dolly, Vivienne was possessed by her for that runway and lipsync as well, so I'm glad that Viv was in the top for that. Monet I think had my favourite runway though as well as of course Raja again which is always a given.

Such a fun episode. Was hard to pick a top 2 as so many did really well. I think I would've kept The Vivienne and Yvie in the top though. I thought they did really great on the runway and both gave great performances (they also had good chemistry on stage in their group). My main issue with Shea was her Dolly look - I didn't like it. I do think she did the best in the performance, but she looked more like a solo artist with backing dancers. :lol:

 

Yvie has gone from 0 to 2 stars in one episode. I'm happy she's on the up and up! :wub:

 

Not sure who I want to win. I kind of want most of them to win at this point. :lol:

 

 

They definitely were mixed in challenge and runway here! I thought Yvie and Shea were the best in the challenge and then Viv and Monet were the best runways. Viv also had a great performance outfit, a bit of motion to boost her more limited dancing compared to some of the more professional dancers.

 

Raja was a clear bottom here, was really surprised that she was just so-so in the challenge and then her runway looked like a knockoff of the original rather than a dragged up version!

 

Had to laugh as well at Viv wearing blue on the runway again (what is this, the 4th week?) after claiming to never wear blue at the start of the season!

Shea was great (as always on these challenges) but I did think Viv and Yvie were the correct top two, and their group was much better.

 

The Vivienne is obviously very talented but I find it hard to root for her? I'm not sure what it is.

Yeah the Viv has a kind of nasty / bad vibe personally despite her talent.

I really don't think she does at all! I didn't like her on her original series but seems much more humble and genuinely funny. I don't get any sort of nastiness from her really.

For me I'm actually enjoying her more in this season than UK1. I'm surprised at how well she's holding her own!

 

Tbh I'm really enjoying some of the werkroom segments. Who knew Jaida was so zany?! Plus the looks they're giving us. Everything Yvie wears I'm searching up to buy <3

Add me to the list of people enjoying the Viv more this time than last - she's impressing me more and more each week right now and I didn't expect her to be one of my favourites despite being one of the two queens I knew already lol (having not seen every season)

Agreed about enjoying Viv more this time round! She's making some decent TV drama too (blocking Monet, admitting to Jinx she would've blocked her, the revenge blocking, the girl group teams etc). She seems less arrogant? But I feel that may be in part due to A. being on an all winners season (everyone is strong competition) and B. Being a Brit in the US - her humour could be lost on some (as it was lost on Ru during her Nan snatch game etc).

 

I also think that she's had a good amount of time to work with a lot of the US queens after winning the show so she's more comfortable too? Her and Monet are hilarious in their netflix collabs.

Honestly I find Shea MUCH more cold/unlikeable than Viv!! I expected to not be that fussed on Viv but she has really hit her stride this past 3 episodes and smashed it, she is just so talented and put together.

I agree with Liam. I know that Shea is a great queen but I feel her personality is always about how good and fierce she is, rather than being fun and fierce and letting it speak for itself? She just doesn’t inject as much humour or personality into what she does IMO.

Exactly! I really just want her to loosen up and she's the only one in this cast I really can't take to because of it. It's just not enough to be a great queen when they all are, for me there's people like Jinkx, Monet and Jaida who are really good TV, likeable, warm and funny, and just being a great queen without much humour, personality or anything injected is leaving her in the dust. Honestly apart from when she's slayed a challenge like this week and the first week, you can forget she's even there!!

Yea I echo the Viv comments! Surprised that she's probably in my top three (with Jinkx and Jaida) this season! Definitely deserves the win again although I thought Shea may have been there with her over Yvie but her runway was weaker

 

I also think Shea is a bit more hyped than she should be? It's almost like they frame her as this really genuine, likeable, funny queen and telling us that's who she is without actually providing the evidence? She's harmless but there is just something there preventing me from warming to her

 

Jaida has me in stitches all the time, same with Jinkx. I feel like for a winner even, Jaida was underrated on her season and we didn't get to see the same side of her personality as we are now.

 

I love the set up of this season, everyone seems like they're having an absolute ball and it's more enjoyable to watch knowing they're having fun, I think this is allowing us to see more sides to them as people as well.
