Armenia's Eurovision entry, Snap by Rosa Linn, has been climbing the lower part of the chart thanks to tik-tok.

It could be a Top 40 hit on Friday as it is number 35 on tonight's midweek chart.

What a start for Bananarama - unfortunately can see it fading away quite quickly as streaming will be minimal and the signed vinyl have sold out now :nocheer:

Jamie selling 15k already? :o that's a fair bit higher than what his last record opened with, he certainly deserves a #1 album so this is great to see

There is a Bananarama song at number 1 on the singles chart right now........if you are watching the Top of the Pops repeats on BBC4 !!

Erm, are you sure? Cos I'm pretty certain Bananarama have never had a UK #1 single

Haha he means that Young At Heart by the Bluebells was originally a Bananarama song (but the cover is much better).

Yeh I saw he was midweek no1 when checking earlier but Joseph hadn’t added the sales yet and I was thinking to myself Jamie could be anywhere between 3-10k sales but didn’t predict he would have 14k in physicals - great to see even 20k may be a target (though more likely 17k)!

wow great sales for Jamie T

and great for Bananarama too

I didn't realise there was a Top of the Pops 1993 thread on Buzzjack - I usually chat about Top of the Pops on Digital Spy. Thanks for letting me know.

Young At Heart was written by Bananarama and Siobhan Fahey's boyfriend at the time Robert Hodgens who later performed the song when he set up the group the Bluebells.

I know others have answered this in the thread but as i see it, its such a shame Bananarama have never had a UK Number 1 album or single or a Top 2 for that matter, love in the first degree and help both peaked at number 3 although for years i was sure Help reached number 2 and their original Greatest hits was their highest charting album also making number 3. Least they were part of the first 2 Band Aid do they know christmas and let it be with Ferry aid which all went number 1.

Probably shouldn't celebrate too early as it'll climb back in by Friday but 'Heat Waves' currently out of the top 40.

Nice to see Luude top 40, a much better and more tolerable song than 'Down Under'!

funnily Bananarama never were an act that sell many albums

I remember as a kid buying Wow, which had great big hit singles like Love in the First Degree, I Heard a Rumour, I Want you Back,

but the album did nothing in the charts (1 week at #26), same for most of their albums

so Masquerade could be their highest charting album since their debut

studio albums:

Deep Sea Skiving #7

Bananarama #16

True Confessions #46

Wow #26

Pop Life #42

Please yourself #46

Ultra violet #Did not chart

Exotica #Did not chart

Drama #Did not chart

Viva #87

In Stereo #29

Yeah, Bananarama never sold albums - besides the greatest hits (which went 3xPlatinum), only Wow (Gold), Bananarama (Silver) and Deep Sea Skiving (Silver) are certified.
