Thats not very accurate, Robert Hodgens from the Bluebells wrote the song with Fahey, Bananarama released it first on their 1st album and then the next year Hodgens and Fahey worked on the version that was released by the Bluebells... but it's not like Fhet gave the song to the Bluebells lol

well.... i heard a rumour haha

Wow really should've done better, although it seems to have their most lengthy chart run aside from the Greatest Hits album which followed a year later.

'Wow' is such a brilliant album, I still listen to it. It's criminal that it only peaked at #26 (although surprisingly it did reach #1 in Australia). I guess some acts just don't sell albums, even with big hit singles.

NO OTHER SALES INFO

Central Cee already coming for #2 this week then. I just hope LF System can hold him off until something deserving comes to knock them off.
Ouch at The Kooks and Banarama falls!

Bananarama was always going to have a hard fall - Love in Stereo started out at #16 and ended at #29. If this one finishes in the top 20, it'll be their first studio album to go top 20 since 1983.

Either the market's crashing or there's a lot more data missing than normal from the singles chart as everyone's totals have taken a dive (LF by nearly 10,000!)

Tbh Bananarama are doing better than basically any other girlband, except for Abba if we count them as a girlband, would do with a comeback album right now, including the Spices!

Heatwaves to stay top40 and beat Cheesy Fad's records please

In what world would anyone count Abba as a girlband? That's like saying Blondie is a girlband because they have a female lead singer

I'll have you know that a lot of people on this forum argue that they are!!! That's why I said IF we include them. I prefer them not to be, as they are bigger thsn the Spices these days :(
As happy as I am to see another Eurovision song becoming a hit, Snap outpeaking Arcade, Think About Things and Stefania to name 3 recent examples just feels wrong.
PLEASE let LF System do enough to keep at the top spot next week or Beyonce with her album release. Literally anything except that "song" - I'd even take a surprise Ed Sheeran or Lewis Capaldi release over it 😭
It's not dramatic so far but my worry is sales, number 5 has just over 3k sales which means bananarama have probably only sold no more than 300 since the last update. They are holding up much better than The Kooks though which I didn't expect.
